Pushes about 94dB according to mx_rob's meter.
It reminds me of the Staintunes on the Triumph. They are actually quieter than stock, according to the tests in NSW, done at 50% of max power rpms. But they are louder/sweeter than stock at idle and high rpm. And 3.5kg lighter each and liberate a few ponies... without being offensively loud.

What did you use to get the sound bites, they sound clearer than most? I would like to get some samples done of the 640A, with the EU/AU standard exhaust, US standard exhaust (supertrapp) and then the modified US exhaust.
    Cheers,
    Colin

I used my highly sensitive Treo

You need to put Murray's Termi on your DR

    First lathe project

Bar riser (only the little roundy bit at the bottom)

35mm base, 28mm top, 30mm rise, 12mm hole down the middle.
Takes forever to spin out of 38mm alloy.

Next is one for the other side

Next next is a wheel spacer to replace the oem speedo drive.

Next next next is the holder for the carb needle/spring.

Hmmm, I could do with a couple of spacers for the XTZ as the stockers are rather badly worn and trashing the seals. Wanna go into business?

Going to have to do a bit of research into what material to use for the spacers as there's quite a bit of pressure on them and they wear.
The alloy I've got won't be up to the job.
My little lathe can do up to 25mm according to the manual but I can get 38mm in there OK

Yep defiantly need some sort of steel - no idea what sorry. 38mm might be a little small for the rear wheel spacer on the XTZ - it is thin but large diameter.

    Bar risers

    Are now done.
Only problem with these is I don't want to drill and tap the top clamps for my GPS as they're a bit thinner than the ones on the bike.
I may make up a mount higher up inside the screen Dakar style.

Spinning and grinding the bolt heads down to the right size/shape was a mission. The little lathe is not good for steel

They are really pretty Nordie - the next project could be salt & pepper shakers shaped as pistons

    Nope.

They're Zeta ones if I recall.
Got them on some fat bars on TradeMe.

Better than my existing risers and adapters etc etc etc...
