The sanctimonious ranting about other people's gear has to stop. Unless you are going actually man up and say something to the "offensively" attired, pissing into the Internet wind is pointless, with a capital P. If people are on KB then they have signed up to be bleated at the by the perfectly attired, perfectly behaved ranters who seem to have replaced the motorcyclists that used to inhabit KB, so they'll be pretty aware of the ATTGATT philosophy that has the replaced the learn how to ride, ride to survive theory that some of us still subscribe to.

I used to rant about "my ACC levies" once upon a time too. A small amount of research and number crunching will alert you to the fact that we should be paying an ACC levy in the region of $450 each to cover injury and rehab costs for motorcyclists. We're being subsidised by every other road user and employer. If anyone deserves to rant, it's Joe Public in his Pajero, not Perfect Percy on his Hornet 900.

Well all The Redneck really said was that the guy was a bloddy idiot. If he's riding without the most basic gear then he probably is a bloody idiot. There's not many bikers would disagree with that.

So what this thread has become is Libertarians abuse Authoritarians and back again - which has kind of gone off topic hasn't it.

People can do wtf they like as long as it doesnt hurt someone else.

if "the system" makes it hurt you then direct the waaaa at acc.

i pay my acc levies when required, and i will ride in as much or as little gear as i like [except the helmet, but thats only cos its required by law]
i rarely ride in shorts unless theres a damn good reason. but i do ride in shorts. i often ride without gloves. or a jacket. or sunglasses under my open faced lid.

You might say dont worry about him, but when he comes off, WHO has to pay ...you do sonny, through ACC levies taxes, it all adds up, plus then he cant work for about a year and bludges off the welfare system.
All for not over regulating things but when it comes to personal safety the guys a retard

Isn't this the problem that the attitude is in society today. "People can do wtf they like" cos if you go past this stage then you have more rights than the ones that get hurt by your actions.
