There might be no movement if the wheel bearings are shot, well yet.

If you really need a second opinion PM me and I can pop around to have a look, its always an option to replace them off hand, SKF bearings should have the correct units you just need the numbers off the bearings, and easy to do.
Its not the destination that is important its the journey.

Rang a bike shop and the bearings are cheap as chips so i will replace them and see if that sorts it out. Cheers.

Ha, wouldn't be a long ride for me, just a one way one ;-) The road beween Ashley and Oxford is a good ride. But it's a bit boring heading back to town. Going over the waimak gorge and down the old west coast rd would be the most interesting way back. Or you could go further out to the Hororata pub and down the bealy rd.

The Port Hills are kind of convenient eh.

We did do this 2 or 3 times last summer. It's handy for the ones that live out this way, but as you said it's convenient for the ones in town to head for the port hills. It seems that most people like to stick to that side of town.

Well I'm out. Got to put the head back together on wed night after pulling it to bits to check the valve clearances in the weekend. Damn bucket and shim style adjustment system. At least there is only 10 valves, pity that 7 of them were out.

    Cheers R

I went on my first Wednesday night ride last week and really enjoyed it. I haven't ever ridden in a large group before so didn't know what to expect. I started off in the second group after deciding that I wasn't quite up to the one piece supersport level. I left with the second group and quickly had some bikes cruzing around me quite close on the ride over to sumner so I was pleased to be able to open it up a bit when we hit the hills.

I found the most benficial aspect of the ride being able to gauge my own riding skills against others and watching what they were and weren't doing in regard to lines, turn ins acceleration etc. It was also cool seeing how my bike handles compared to other bikes.

I am planning to come along tomorrow for a ride and a perve at the awesome range of bikes. Good shit topping almost 50 bikes.

Hope the weather is all good. Any ideas of a destination/ flight plan?

Lees valley - looking forward to trying that on sometime.

As for going North out of town (or South for that matter - let's have a pint in Ashburton ) is so fricking dull. Going to Greta Valley, having a beer and going back home is the biking equivalent of picking up a hot girl, getting her undressed, ready and waiting - and then do an about turn, leave and walk home through the rain. (It is really that close to the Hundalees ...or sort of.)

I'll be there on the 'tard tomorrow - and keen on diversions
