The little bit of plastic has absolutely no bearing on the physical ability to go for a ride. It does not start the bike. It does not control the bike.
It is only an item that is quite useful to have, if actually pulled over.

    Speaking of which,
The obvious first move is for someone to replace their numberplate prior to going for a ride...

heading into welly by jville, we saw 3x highway patrol and 1x around town all sitting together on the northbound side of the cheesecutter. furthur on, on the downhill that has the lit up speed signs there was a bike cop also on the northbound side.

they were the only cops we saw the entire day, lol. odd to see 4 cars all sitting on top of each other. it was right after a merge from an on ramp, but 4 cars seemed like overkill.

Only 150?? let me guess honda riders?? lol
Nah just joking.. I think everyone needs to ride sensibly on the street and pay the small fee for the trackdays that are available..

But what do I know ive only been riding 4 months lol
Ladies, if a man says he will fix something, he will fix it. You don't need to keep reminding him every 6 months

Forget a fake plate. If you leave the plate at home you find the bike becomes almost invisible to radar/laser. But for some reason it really f***s up your fuel economy.

Of course that is like saying the combined road research knowledge of places like Sweeden, Japan and Germany is worthless. eg that they have a highly trained driving pool where licences aren't given out like cough lollies. Driving speeds are higher and the accdient/death rates are much lower. (OK Japan is 100kmh but they enforce a mimimum speed limit so everyone keeps up)

There are heaps of roads here that could take higher speed limits if people were properly trained.

I do not trust any stats that spew forth from the LTNZ (Andy Knackstedt and other mouthpieces). They stopped being relevant years ago.

But solving the problem requires more THOUGHT and MONEY and TIME to implement than chucking out a few bandaid policies that provide more immediate tangible cash returns.

"Hi, I will spend millions of dollars on training drivers so that they won't kill themselves or others over the next 40 years. Yes, I know this won't result in a positive return on investment for a number of years, and in that time we won't be able to offer you any tax cuts or increases in govt handouts, but please believe me when I tell you that a vote for me is a vote for a long-term improvement in the wellbeing of our country."

Do you seriously think they'll get elected? Nope. Country is too short sighted. People want shit now, they don't want to save up for it.

I have yet to see a cop up there at the usual time I was doing SH16 - namely 2-3AM.

Hell, I don't think I've even had to pass another vehicle - I fail to see why anyone would want to do it at any other time.

Besides, of course, the fact that the pubs/food places are shut.
