Absolutely but even more pissed off if i had to endanger my/my familys lives taking evasive action to ensure some knob on a bike didnt achieve an ending that his actions deserved.Glad the starter of the thread came out ok and agree he should without doubt go see the coppers about said incident.

(the "I'm not attempting to excuse his actions but.." rings about as true as the immortal line "I'm not a racist but...") by trying to imply that there is a collective responsibility on the part of motorcyclists is disingenious at best. It sounds to me that by defining your internet persona by dint of constant calls for motorcyclists to accept responsibility for their own safety (something that we all agree with, at least to some extent) you have grown increasingly extreme and have finally arrived at a point where you are defending the indefensible.

    Well said that man

Fair call but if so then theres no point in having threads whinging about bad car drivers then i guess as they as a group take no collective responsibility for there actions.

No, what I have been saying repeatedly (is it that difficult to understand?) is I do not want to be treated as an ambassador for motorcyclists, if I ride in a way which people feel is inconsiderate, then I may not be happy about them perceiving me as an inconsiderate rider, but if my riding in a safe manner encourages that perception then so be it. If they saw me as "all that was inconsiderate about motorcycling" as opposed to seeing me as "an inconsiderate person on a motorbike" then I really wouldn't give a stuff about what such small minded individuals believed.

I hope that answers your question.

Anyway, back to the topic at hand. If you see the mentioned car, the as katman rightfully suggests - kick his mirror off...

True, complain about individuals. I definitely encounter more friendly car drivers than dangerous ones, but if you were to read Kiwibiker you would think they were all out there trying to kill us (behave like it is true, but don't believe it).

Can you not accept that someone may have a different viewpoint than yours?

Just because you believe in something passionately does not make that belief a universal truth.

Kave has made a cogent airing of his viewpoint and it differs from yours - that doesn't make it wrong - and it would appear that you are unlikely to change his mind.

Yep,read enough Kiwibiker and you could almost swear that to not wave is illegal,Harley riders are all wankers, anyone that rides a Ducati is a naturally talented rider and every Ducati sounds awsome (even though you cant hear many above the hideous clutch),its not possible for a bloke with talent onboard last years model to outride a knob on the latest with none. Many other such wonderments but dont have the time.
