If your bike is in a public place then you have already given consent for it to be photographed.

Does that mean if I'm skinnydipping at the beach people can come right up to me and take a picture of my penis and my right side?

Your bike gets photographed for stealing (presumably) then you post up who your are, where you work and what security measures you take to keep it secure?

    Pretty f-ing daft sonny...

Also, just for those on the public property = fair game, Como street isn't exactly the main vein in taka. More clean, gungry kinda backstreet.

AND, With the amount of bike thefts going on lately, can I not be a little skeptical over someone getting a little closer than needed?

    No!

The perpetrator took a pic of the BACK and the right side,

This means it would be and your right side.

Good call... However, the OPs reply to my post suggests that the part of the "footpath" the bike was on may not be public.

I may be wrong but the way I understood it this definition only applies to vehicular matters. I think the local council's survayors would probably agree that a driveway is private property when you're on foot.

You've gotta be quick with the trousers in a situation like that, park yer bum with a nice down trou in between the camera and the bike.

If anyone complains, just say your pants slipped while you were taking your leathers off.

Well, if a photo was taken of me from behind while naked, it'd still be able to see my willy hanging below my knees... But, I ride a Gixer, and not a Hyosung...
It’s diametrically opposed to the sanitised existence of the Lemmings around me in the Dilbert Cartoon hell I live in; it’s life at full volume, perfect colour with high resolution and 10,000 watts of amplification.

Nah... it means that the water is cold, there was major shrinkage and they are taking a photo to show everyone for a laugh....

    Fairy snuff....

I may be wrong but the way I understood it this definition only applies to vehicular matters. I think the local council's survayors would probably agree that a driveway is private property when you're on foot.

A private driveway is still a private driveway, and is expressly excluded as a road in the Land Transport Act.

Peeping and Peering into dwelling houses at night - Summary Offences Act.

There was a thread or a post somewhere recently on KB, about a bloke naked in his home, seen by a woman out on the street = he gets locked up for exposure.

Another lady naked in her home, seen by a bloke out on the street = bloke being locked up for peeping and peering.... Go figure.

Us blokes are doomed. Damned if you do, damned if you don't...

I dunno about everyone else, but I'd rather be damned doing it.

Were those two cases both very similar? I.e, the man pressed up against the window all day, in both cases?

Id be getting extra security for your bike quick smart biddy, I cannot think of a single legitimate reason for him to take ANY photos of it, let alone the plate. If he had a complaint to make, he would have rung *555
    you

    are

    an

    idiot.

You are probably one of those people that would shoot someone and be like "I didnt mean to kill them", or stomp on someones head and be like "I didnt mean for them to get hurt".

Seriously, Im tempted to come take a picture of your bike just to watch you overreact like a buffoon. Funny how all the bikes I have taken pictures of arent sitting in my garage right now, I must be doing it wrong.

Now on a serious note, it does sound odd that someone has taken photos of your bike in such a way. If you feel really worried, report it to the police and they should be able to track the last person that went to the post offic and got your address *if they have done so*.

As I read this I was thinking "Surely not if you're standing on public property". Then you nicely answered that by the rest of your post:
