The Whanga RD was pretty dry in places only a few little bogs that may cause an issue. Being easter weekend a few big 4wd were going thru which made some of the ruts a little deep, that clay and papa sure is some slippery stuff

Where is this road? it doesnt look like the road from Whangamonona to Taumaranui.
Life shouldnt end at the grave well presented but rather, slide in sideways totally worn out yelling "shit that was a great ride!"

thanks for the photos - really looking forward to having a go at this track.

did you drown your bike on the main track?

Do you know - does Okara Rd join up to Tahunaroa Rd (which goes to the bridge from somewhere)

    cheers

Yeah yep thats what we call the loop track, its a farm track that loops all the way back and comes out by Marco school, would have done it today but wasn't sure if there was enough oil in the water to get around. Have done it quite a few times its a really good track on that side as its on the station and not DOC , there are whale fossils in one of the creeks and you climb up onto the top of a ridge and can see for quite a way.

Right, I'm well and truly out of this ride (yet again) as I have coastguard duties on saturday now as well as family stuff on sunday. Bugger.

I hope it rains and you're all miserable.

I know where you can get a low km DR motor from - its had a bit of welding done to the sump and has been inverted a few times but should be ok - I think the guys got a good black tank to sell and the seats ok but everything else is totally ferked. Whatever you do don't buy the white helmet he's trying to sell
