    I blame the mods.

[Edit:] Mate of mine got DIC'd at 9am after a big night on the booze. Fact is that some people have a big night out and are still over the limit in the morning. Of course it's all for road safety and I'm sure the coppas have stats showing loads of fatal drink-drive accidents at 8am..... (now the thread has sarcasm too).

I blame the Welch. That's what they're there for, after all. It's all Mr Biff's fault.

Yeah happens out our way a bit, couple of times while going to work I have been stopped at a road block (no bozz bus, just two patrol cars) outside the old dairy co at paerata, had the wof/rego/breath thingy done 05.30hrs mostly been G/G cops not HPs, I guess they may catch the odd pisshead coming home from citynight clubs, but mostly its just hard working slobs going to work.

I get a wave from a woman in a car every morning, Monday to Friday. Always at the same time, 4.45am. I always give her a big wave while wondering why anyone would want to go to work at that unearthly hour,,,,, or why she wakes me up before she goes., We pensioners need our beauty sleep.

The early morning checks are partly quota building for the LTSA. Police have to put in X hours of breath testing in return for their funding. At 5:30 am on a weekday morning there's prolly not too much happening out there, so it's a good time to clock up some of those hours. Contract doesn't specify WHEN the hours have to be . Better to do it then than 11pm Friday night with all hell breaking loose.

The dedicated booze bus teams are a different matter.

I got a couple of one-fingered waves from the scum wearing hoodies hitchhiking just north of Levin when I didn't stop the car and let them jump in and rob me.

Waved to the lambies in the front paddock, they bleated back in return! Saw two bikes in Levin itself, a Suzuki and a Hyosung (they look pretty good in black) but didn't wave as I was in the car. I did shoot admiring glances though, does that count?
Yes, I am pedantic about spelling and grammar so get used to it!

I also wouldnt be surprised if its for training too... The guy looked pretty new in his brand new uniform. Me and Mrmelon were stopped a couple of weeks ago on Rintoul street, he was riding with me on the back when two coppas standing on the side of the road waved us over and breathe tested us on a Thursday at 4.00pm-ish. One of the coppas looked liek a newbie that day too.

I used to have a great spreadsheet that's shown on occassion that I'm not ok to drive until after 6pm the day after a bender.

I did a quick google and attached a similar but not so good example.....

[Edit:] Can't attach excel spreadsheets, so try http://quis.qub.ac.uk/finsoc/html200...calculator.xls

Not complaining - but going back through the thread can't see how it ends up on Breath testing and quotas again. It's like some sort of subject singularity that drags every thread kicking and screaming to it's source.

I didn't wave much today - too windy and only me second day on the motorway - couple of lane splitters passed me - too fast to wave at though.

There - brought it back on topic nicely.

Umm, I think that was my fault. I was waved over by a cop on my way to the gym this morning to be breath tested.....

But the thread was pretty pointless..... Actually I revoke that, it's funny - we taking the piss out of all the threads about waving, ie. we're taking the piss out of ourselves.

I love laughing at myself I get so much practice.

Back to the wave - nothing worse than the "hurried" wave, where you take your hand off the controls for a second, then realise you need them back on the controls in a hurry.
