New Zealand is supposed to be metric. It has been legal since 1972. How will we ever change if people continue to faff around weighing babies in pounds and ounces and All Blacks in stones and pounds? Let it go.

Or you could divide by 14.

Pssahh. They never asked me. Just cos it's legal doesn't make it sensible . Another damn silly idea, like meddling with the money.

Everybody knows what a 6 foot 14 stone guy looks like. But in metricrap, who knows. Y' read the police reports, they're looking for a 150 squigglemeter dude. Are they after a dwarf or a giant, no idea.

The old way worked perfectly well, there was no reason to change. Pounds, pence, feet, inches ,ells, fathoms, yards, drachms ,minims, chains, perches , everybody understood what they were and where things stood. Now noone has any idea.

1972 indeed. A mere 34 years. What's that, nothing. Come back and see me about it after 600 years, maybe.
