Why do people make it so easy for thieves?

A couple of weeks ago I was parking up downtown (Auckland) and I noticed someone had left their helmet sitting unsecured on the "step-through" part of their scooter. This morning I'm leaving the bike park on Victoria St and again, a scooterist, has left their jacket sitting unsecured on the step-through. The two items in question might not been worth much but some pricks will steal anything that's not nailed down. Don't give them the opportunity!

Who really gives a flying fuck? At the end of the day it's their kit and they can what ever they like with it.

Far too many people trying to mind other folks business these days........

Sorry Bonez I understnd where you are comming from but I give a flying when my insurance premium gets increased due to these thiefts occuring, and the clown who has his gear stolen always says yes it was secure.
Its not the destination that is important its the journey.

    You mean perfect Labour supporters
To every man upon this earth
    Death cometh sooner or late
And how can a man die better
    Than facing fearful odds
For the ashes of his fathers
And the temples of his Gods

There are those idiots out there that think we live in a perfect world and people aren't gonna take their stuff. Mind you, if they took the helmet then they couldn't ride. That's one more scooter off the road and not cutting us off.

scooters are gay anyway very annoying around town.

they dont seem to have any concept of protection either!!! the amount of times a see a business man or nice looking girl wearing sandals, skirt, and t-shirt- i just shake my head and feel sorry for them when they have an accident! i mean 60km isnt very fast but coming off into the road at that speed im sure her dress aint going to help her out very much....

    anyone else think this??

Cyclists ride around in shorts. At 50kmh you will get sore but it won't kill you.
In town I sometimes wear jeans but don't stress about the pants - always a decent jacket. Each to their own.

Edit - sorry for thread hijack. Will stop now.

You must be one eyed, there are as many motorcycle idiots out there riding around in shorts and shirts without gloves as there are scooterists- open the other eye.

Leaving your helmet, jacket, key or even wallet unsecured does not cause crime , thieves cause crime.

You know what. You should be allowed to leave your jacket on your bike. You should be allowed to have a motorbike trailer in your front yard. You should be allowed to own a Harley or an Evo. But you know what, people like you start blaming people for their stuff getting stolen, instead of aiming your bitching at the crims who are stealing stuff. God damn it, something needs to be done about the crims, not about the poor bastard who had nowhere better to leave his jacket.

I don't know why we are paying huge amounts of tax to this government if we are just going to lose anything we have left to the thieves. I want to stop paying taxes until something is done about average joe getting shafted from all sides.

If I didn't pay so much tax, I could afford to put remote controlled gates on our section, I could afford CCTV, I could afford the time to manage security on my family's property cause I wouldn't need to work twice the hours for half the pay so that the government can blow all our god damn money.

And no, I would never leave my jacket lying on my motorbike, but that doesn't mean I would get angry at someone else who does.

    Rant over... for now.
