I was meaning that I was sorry to hear of the events that occured to him (victim of road rage & bullying & forced bin) and I was calling the guy who was driving the vehicle ("...grey/blue Lancer thing...") a nutcase (meaning idiot, wanker, crazy, stupid, etc).

I wasn't talking about the writer (Intense) using his nuts to do a DIY panel job on his fuel tank. He has had enough flak for one day and besides, I don't know him well enough to talk about his nuts! haha

Been there done that, funny thing is the guy we did it to ended up writing his car off about a week later. I guess the smell of fish festering in his air vents over a week of 30 degree days in Gisborne got the better of him.

Glad you're OK intense. Sounds from what you have said that he was coming out of his driveway on the righthand side of the road just over the hill from the Berhampore pub?? I live just around the corner down pass the turnoff to Waripori street so its in my interests to know exactly where this happened.

Not so much because of this anally challenged twit, because if you dont realise it yet they are ALL out to get you, but because its possibly a hazardous area and I survive by making mental notes of such places. The GSX is gold and the lights are auto on at all times and I have noticed that I have fewer events such as these as opposed to say when riding my old SR500 single which was very black and narrow. My main problem is trying to avoid been side swiped by sportie types around the city. I check my mirrors, indicate for 2 seconds and then they decide to put their foot down to stop me from changing lanes. Women drivers in a certain German car... several times lately and one nearly got me too. Biker Murdering Women . Not to say it cant be Bloody Male Wan*ers too I suppose for the ladies members.

Can you update us all if/when you find out whats happening with the hit and run please?. I presume its classed as such?

Jeez dude that sucks, while my instinct is to recommend the 'hunt n kill' option, my brain tells me you need to go through the legal system and try to have it addressed this way. If that doesn't work, then there are other options.
I'm really glad to hear that you are basically ok, and the bike is fixable, good on the coppers for looking after you too.

    *sigh* here we go again...

    *sigh* here we go again...

Firstly, sorry to hear of your misfortune Intense ~ nobody deserves that kind of treatment, and to have your pride and joy smashed like this is just... WRONG!

    And now for my rant:
As motorcyclists we are vulnerable and at the mercy of cars - YOU are responsible to keep yourself out of danger. Sometimes we can't - the other vehicles are too ingenious; you can't help that, but do your best to anticipate emergencies.

This means anticipate arseholes who try to knock you off your bike~ cars are always going to pull out in front of bikes - always have and always will. It's not cool, but learn to anticipate it.
Also learn to anticipate your emotions of shock, anger, and hatred that will come after the fact and BITE YOUR LIP! Mouthing off is only going to exacerbate the situation and guess who will come off worse if it escalates?
(Take the reg. etc if you have to and follow the better advice posted here)

Meanwhile, to all vigilantes out there: Firstly, one revenge only begets another revenge - if we go out meting justice on this car driver (and lord knows he's got it coming) do you really believe he will see the error of his ways?
Driver: "Oh my goodness, a rider scratched 'don't f**k with bikers' in my door - OH HOW WRONG I HAVE BEEN!!!" Yeah right.
No. He is going to go on a revenge rampage - if not against you, against another innocent rider. And so the problem escalates and more car drivers will ram riders off the road.

I've said before, a lot of shite gets mouthed-off on KB and maybe those people don't really behave like that. Maybe they're not serious when they make suggestions about vandalising other people's property - but there are a lot of impressionable young riders on KB who may take it seriously.

Sorry again for your misfortune Intense, and 'wise up' to our sprightly young KBers.

    /rant over~!
    Keep it rubber-side down...

Trouble is, everytime some dickbrain thinks its a great giggle to pull out in front of a biker (cut him off, ram him , etc) and the biker bites his lip, shrugs , and carries on, that simply validates dick brain in his attitude.

Such people are bullys. Ignoring their bullying doesn't make them give up. They KNOW they scared the shit out of you . They KNOW you're hurt. They KNOW your bike is smashed. They think that's real funny. And now they see that bikers are too scared to object to such treatment. Easy targets. So the next biker he sees, he's going to pull the same "joke".Or maybe even a better one. Like, man, this was sooo way cool, the biker faggot's actually DEAD.

And sooner or later one of those bikers isn't going to get up, to bite lip and shrug.

So, for the "ignore it and move on" folk - what ELSE are you going to do? Ignore it means endorsing such behaviour as acceptable. And that means more and more of it. Get his rego ? Oh, yeah wheee. And what are you going to do with it? Report it to the police ? They'll laugh in your face.

I don't have a good answer. Except maybe that there's security in numbers.

Went to mitre10 the other day. Absentmindedly picked up a small axe and then my wife said "this will look great on your new bike"... Can't think of a better tool to combat road rage.
P.S. In USA the driver would have faced up to a quarter century for assault with the deadly weapon + fleeing the scene of the accident. May be local law enforcement will at least get their bus tickets wet?

Because people are stupid, they will believe a lie because they want to believe it's true, or because they are afraid it might be true. People's heads are full of knowledge, facts, and beliefs, and most of it is false, yet they think it all true ... they can only rarely tell the difference between a lie and the truth, and yet they are confident they can, and so all are easier to fool." -- Wizard's First Rule
