    Every now and then, yes.

    Yup - we had Ma out there marshalling the troops because the rest of us couldn't work out a way to politely ask her to relax and go with the flow.

    Blondini did a couple of commendable stoppies on that 150 too... very good job
    $2,000 cash if you find a buyer for my house, kumeuhouseforsale@straightshooters.co.nz for details

    the braking practice and the ride around the block were excellent and the ride on the back of the R1 was awesome!

    Thanks Frosty and my Mentor ((TEC) sorry didn't get your name) for reorganising my handlebars - much more comfortable for the ride home.

    Thanks Qkchk for the awesome R1 ride and the escort home (bloody Asians, driving on the wrong side of the road!)

    You all deserve much more than a pint of beer. Everyone have a good Christmas and hope to see everyone again on both the Wednesday and Thursday nights ride.
    Hope you didn't mind, when I saw the way that white car crowded you I decided to follow you and back them off, what the hell as good a reason as any to go for a ride.

    I was pleased to see such a marked improvement in your lines, your lane presence, and your body position.
    You looked much more experienced right off.
    The levers have obviously done you wonders, your elbow was no longer cocked and you were a lot smoother going in to corners and you were gassing it nicely coming out!

    Other than the brake testing I did not catch much of your riding till the way home, but you made some great improvements during the braking.
    Your stop flattened out and shortened up nicely once you finally relaxed your shoulders and elbows well done

    Confidence will be the key here I think, the levels of improvement from scared to try the braking drill to full on stoppie in one night?
    Apply that dedication to the other basics and you will be a very good rider in time.

    The 3rd or the 10th both suit me.

    Topics:
    Braking (again)
    Road riding
    Group/Pack riding

    What else?
    Balance
    Controls
    Manoeuvering

    Mentors - suggestions?
    Mentees - requests?

    Ive been trying to figure out how to smoke, talk on my cell phone, steer with my knees while reading the paper and drinking my coffee.... oh the bad habits you pick up driving a cage...

    Seriously though, I was very impressed with how this went; I would like to work on slow speed manuveres & cornering (not at the same time though!) - ie what gear, how high a revs, foot position, head position, and how to stop my nuts from dropping onto the road...

    Any date is fine with me.

    Most of the riders I saw could benifit from some:
    * low speed drills.
    * counter steering drills.
    * "lines" for going around corners safely.

    Most have the right idea but need to put it into practice.
