I did not manage to read thoroughly the 11 pages of postings, but I am interested in the running cost of Aprilia RSV / RSVR compared to GSXR or Fireblade.

Can someone enlighten me (or link me a posting with the information if available)?

    Many thanks.

I understand your opinion; however, I need you to point me to this "slagging off" because I've read the entire thread and can't find it... All I've said is that I owned a K4 thou and bought the RSV because it suits my riding style better.

The RSV is incredibly economical on gas, my lady made it from Wellington to Hawera on a tank of gas, and did it in two and a half hours or there abouts.

Parts seem to be around the same as a GSXR price wise, and servicing is cheep too.

All in all, if you're lookin at one for around the same purchase price, it wont cost you in the long run.

Ok, I'll back down here, if you aren't slagging one over the other, then I have no problem with what you're saying. Apologies for any offense.

    RSV's are still girls bikes

That's good to know - my RSV is only doing 200-210km to a tank at present. Mind you, it's done just over 2,000km.

The '03 has a huge tank though, over twenty liters, so the '07 wont go as far.

Okay i did about 450kms on motogirl rsvr past two days (up to akl and back)

notice fuel light came on around the 200-210km mark like motogirl said

I fulled up in tga, fuel light came on at 210km and i put in 12.16l fuel(did a futher 10kms before i put fuel in)
Fulled back in akl, fuel light came on at 206km and i put 11.69l

    Taken from aprilia site
    'Tank
Capacity 18 litres, 4 litre reserve.'

So not to sure acuate that is, works out on my trip to akl and back(take in account this more touring specs than spirted riding avg) works out 5.6l per 100kms, so in round about way you should be able to get round 300km mark out of tank (wouldn't trust that), but seams to me like fuel light comes early.

So the -1 front sprocket is going to bugger up your distance travelled and given motorcycle odometers are typically not accurate anyway I have no idea what all of this means.

No rsvr speedos are driven of the rear wheel.

I in turn have also checked the speedo of our rsvr against my gsxr (which has a speedohealer which i have checked using gps and is accute to 1km/h at 100km/h) and they both read same speed
