    Back on topic

Right you lot = back on topic!!!!
Next Saturday - charity ride will finish about 3:30 - who's keen for a ride after it and where.
    Suggestions:
    Larnocks Castle
    Somewhere else down the Peninsula
    Karitane
    Taieri Mouth
    Waihola

Is there a coffee place at Taieri Mouth? - or do we have to gatecrash a certain KB member on the way???

Please reply with a yes/no AND preferred destination

OK - I'm a yes and I prefer Waihola (and getting there by a devious route)

I'm keen. theres no coffee place at Taieri mouth. the road to Waihola from taieri mouth is gravel, can be fun for those who are used to those conditions.
also gravel for 70% of the road from Taieri mouth to milton, a few nice beachs off that road but all gravel.

Seriously though there are times when the website will be out of reach and cell phones/txting comes into its own so I guess we all need to programme in a few numbers so we can contact someone - hopefully you'll get someone who hasn't got their race face on and their phone turned off!!
She's all good. I was initially concerned about KB rides being publicly suggested, then privately organised, leaving some people out.

Yesterday was a last minute job, and Nighthawk did a good job co-ordinating it. I as usual did nothing to help....

NH and I have kissed and made up (I wish he'd shave more often...), and will discuss further over "Lah-tays".

    Okay, sorry coach.

I'm a yes - Waihola sounds good, but not by SH1. What's your devious route?

How about via Brighton and Taieri Mouth? The unsealed road over to Waihola is not too bad for street bikes (although we cruiser riders may need to stop and polish every two minutes....).

The Black Swan at Waihola does a nice Devonshire Tea, although coffee choice might be limited to Greggs or Bushells.

You should try the Virago on gravel - a bit like a uni-cycle with buckhorns. Front wheel has a life of it's own - it does it's own thing, while I follow it as best I can. I may end up somewhere else altogether....

I'm not game for the gravel bit but I'm on for coffee at Waihola. Maybe we could still meet up. Incidentally, the CDC has just approved the sealing of said piece of road.

I won't be holding my breath, after all, it took years for Chaslands Highway to be done. Now it's one of the best bikers' roads in the country!
