PirateJafa had hatched a plan to take Wellington's Tag-o-rama tag. We had the tag location sorted. All he had to do was make it to the ferry, over to Wellington, up to Johnsonville and 6.5km's to the end of Rifle Range Road.

Had everything gone to plan he'd have done it. But as you'll see from tonight's posts. They had bike problems, missed a couple of ferry's and Cloggy nailed the tag before the steal could be completed.

To have lost that tag to two guys riding an 80cc bike from Christchurch to Nelson and 100cc from there would have been epic.

Good try Pirate. Clearly Mr Suzuki never envisaged two people touring on one of his 80cc bikes from long ago.

At 6.48 pm the goal on the minor side trip was lost. At least they'll get to Masterton a good half an hour earlier.

right i got to be a little crazy.

but im off in the cold dark night, to meet the guys at the bottom of the tuckers.

to take a bit of the load of the little bike, and escort the lads to my digs.

i guess we will post up a little latter.

Allright, the guys are off the ferry and on their way to Masterton.

Missed your post, was out the door soon after my last post. Damn that's classic and a co-incidence regarding them trying to steal our tag.
I didn't talk to the guys for very long, they were keen to get on their way to Masterton.
Would have loved to join them on their ride and carried on to the top of the Rimutaka Hill but needed to head home so left them to it from the Petone off-ramp onwards.

Photos are a bit fuzzy. The old camera doesn't get enough time to focus with the flash going in the dark.
The guys put on a bit of a show coming off the ferry pulling a couple of wee wheelies. Unfortunately I missed those on camera.
