I'll check later today on details such as number of parking spaces and opening times at The Valley.
Perhaps somebody can check out Centre City for the future?![]()

Mission Bay is a little out of the way for a Sunday coffee so we'll have to make do with The Valley complex at Waiwakaiho.
There are only 200 or so parking spaces within easy walking distance of the coffee place and Subway so latecomers may have to double up on parking spaces. The aim is to demonstrate to the public the congestion that we would be causing if motorcycles are priced off the road by ACC.
Food and coffee places open at 7.00 and 7.30 respectively but as Briscoes and Rebel Sports are the first shops to open at 9.00 I plan on getting there around 8.30 for a leisurely coffee. Any cars there at that time can be replaced by bikes as they vacate parks. Probably hang around until the remaining shops open at 10.00.
The press that gave us the positive exposure of the Naki Bikeoi have been invited to drop in for a coffee with us.
See you there![]()
Most of the cars in there before opening time are staff cars and will stay there all day. To begin with you'll just piss off about 20 (if your lucky) overworked under paid retail workers. The owner of BBs cafe is a biker, just for info, and I will be turning up 'bout nine for work myself so I'll shout ya a coffee.
I was completely blown away by the shear number of bikes in Wellington, and am proud of the contribution that Taranaki made to the cause. The level of riding during the protest was superb as well. It was a great experience, and I may never again be surrounded by so many bikes. It was an amazing display of solidarity and of what can be accomplished if people actually DO something about a problem instead of just TALKING about it. Let's keep the pressure up, and show the lying politicians that we're not push-overs.
Those members of the public that may complain about our actions need to be reminded that they can thank us later for fighting to keep ACC affordable and out of the grubby paws of overseas insurance companies. I do however agree that we must select our protest actions carefully, both in terms of public opinion and keeping the interest of a sufficient number of riders to participate in relevant action.
The ride back to the Naki was wet and cold, but boy, I'm glad I went down there.
Oh, and thanks to the organisers, very well done, super slick planning!
I'll do my bit.
See ya there.
BTW,we should wear our anti-ACC apparel so the public know we're not just a bunch of louts.
And it wouldn't hurt to hand out some flyers with stat's on them too.
Anyone else see the 2 Triumphs down just south of Wanganui. They went past other bikers at a reasonable rate not long prior to their hickup. I hope they were OK.

I've started another thread (Sticky) for Sunday's coffee morning.
If we can get some idea via that thread of how many are likely to show we'll approach BB's and Subway in advance if necessary to warn them that they may be busier than usual.
Sorry - will be in Hamihole recovering from the supercross.
