Not this time, last time on my other bike I did, but it was already black on this one. If you are painting your exhausts, get the highest temp heat paint you can get, as the less tough heat paints burn off up on the headers. I wasted money on two other cans of heat paint, before I found some awesome stuff guaranteed to 1300degFareneit or somethinng.

I have heard the paint they use on pot belly stoves is the way to go - mind you - that was years ago. Good effort Staem

    Update, KLR project stage TWO...

In the past few days I added more stuff, some knobbly bits here and there, an ammo box, and a rubber tank protector because my knees kept rubbing off the spraypaint.
The overexposed photo is my favourite.

Here's a link through to the full-screen version of the overexposed one.

    Very cool mate!
    Loving the ammo box.

So with the big round headlights are you also adding spotlights on an overhead rack, a gun rack and naming it "Bubba"?

    Haha, that looks great!

Where did you get the bike? $800 sounds like a bloody good deal for that.

Through a private ad, nowhere special. It is an '86, burns a bit of oil, but I only need to top it up every 1000k or so. It should have been a bit more expensive really.
Good deal for student me, I was pleased to get it.
