i had my 91 FZR250 off the clock and still climbing on the rev counter (downhill) it didnt like it and decided to throw half the conrod out through the block, and the other half through the flywheel. it sounded really cool at 23000 rpm before it went bang.

Fastest would be 140km on the CBF 250 ....might have been down hill though. Normally can sit at 120km comfortably. And yes.......passing does get very embarassing.

Oh dear, another sad little post from the man who thinks sarcasm is wit.

I have had two smaller bikes in the past 12 months.
1st was a Suzuki EN125. Speedo read about 5km more than what it was actually doing but the actual top speed I got up to was 110. That was flat out giving it everything it had.

2nd is a Yamaha Scorpio 225. Speedo is very accurate. Will do 120 comfortably with a little left. Did get it up to 140 by leaning right forward and flat on the tank. Felt it possibly could have gone a little faster but wasn't game to try at the time. Would love to know what the top speed actually is.

If you can make it on Kiwibiker you can make it anywhere.

I was on the flat on the motorway one night with no traffic around.

Not something I would do often. Too addictive. Possibly could have gone faster but made myself slow back down to 100. Would love to do a track day though to see what it could really do.

The thing I hate about small bikes is the extreme sensitivity of the engines to cosmic rays, exact air temperature and the way you crook your little finger when you open the throttle.

Anyway, for what it's worth, I had my FXR150 up to an indicated 142 on the flat, and my Zeal would hit around about 160.

Can get a real 170 out of my VTZ flat out. My speedo says 190 but my mate following in his legacy with a just calibrated speedo says otherwise.

I suspect my GN has some lame horses
On a steep downhill it will hit 120kph at the redline in top

On the flat it can be an effort holding 100kph if the wind gets up.
