coro is great too falks, you will like it if you havent done it before. I've done it about 9 times in the last 2 months. just coz I loved it so myuch the first time and kept coming back on it. half the times I was by myself tooGood fun.
Drider , what bike you getting brother, we wanna know !![]()
Can I make a wee suggestion for this one..
This ride we have alot more distance to cover than the Cape Reinga ride and in the same amount of time. Especially day 2.
Can we cut down on the stopping?
Last time everytime we stopped and waited for the rear to catch up everyone would take their gear off and have a good yarn, all good and well but it took bloody ages!! Day 2 it was night fall before we got in.. so.. like.. bums on seats this time yeah?
Other then that, i'm real keen!
Woe to You Oh Earth and Sea
For the Devil sends the beast with wrath
Because he knows the time is short
Let him who hath understanding
Reckon the number of the beast
For it is a human number
Its number is six hundred and sixty six.
FOR SALE: '88 Yamaha FZX 750, low k's and decent condition. Looking for around 4.5K. Drop us a pm, view it any time. Oh, and trades considered for cruisers or naked sporties.
Only 3 options I can think of.
1. Keep the average speed down so the rear can keep up. Not so good for the faster riders but then the bigger the speed gap the bigger the risk of someone pushing too hard anyway.
2. Have lots of mini stops. Say every 30mins pull over for a no-helmets-off stop to gather the bunch back up. Make it clear it's not a ciggy break and as soon as everyone is accounted for push off again.
3. Break up into a fast and a medium group (no slow group as no-one would want to be in it) each with a lead and TEC. That way each group can do their own thing to a large degree. Obviously the med group will get in later.
A combination of all three to different degrees for different types of roads (twisties vs straights) may help.
Very good points Disco. I like option 2 and 3. Like I've said before - experience counts![]()
I've never done the Coro loop before either... been wanting to, have heard great things about it on KB, but KBers make it sound like it turns into some sort of motorcyclists' racetrack in the weekends, which is a bit intimidating to a noob like me![]()
I wouldnt say racetrack, no. its a place with beautiful views and all sorts of corners, tight ones, fast sweeping ones, uphill, downhill. its a great place for practicing skills if you are not pushing yourself beyond your own limits. its true that people have come off their bikes on it but its due to pushing beyond their own limits. if you ride sensibly, you will have fun with no major things to worry about. its a one of the best rides on the north island you can go on. recommend it to anyone.
Right, i'm in too.
Will be sorting out a day off work and will have to look into getting a new set of tyres before we head off.
This is gonna be a sweet tour![]()
Great stuff Shingo. Will be great to have you with us:
I will most probably come on day 2, I live in Te Puke, Just South of Mount Maunganui so would leave early day 2 and leave Whakatane with you and bugger of home that night too.
Sooooo if anyone from Tauranga etc is going we can go early day 2, speaking 6 am ish.
