That made me laugh. As BigG said, dam near all right handers lol. From memory at least 2 left handers but all the high speed stuff is .... lol!

At least on the track you know there are no cars heading towards you on your side of the road!

Had a nice little pootle up to Wairoa this arvo. The road wasn't too bad, a little sticky just before Mohaka on the way up. Stopped at the top of Mohaka for a breather in the shade and chatted to a nice couple from Hastings. Passed a group of 4 bikes heading south just after that - anyone from here? We went and visited my brother up there then had afternoon tea - (posh accent here) at Cafe 2ate7 just south of town.

On the way back going up from Devils elbow proved interesting with the back end just slipping out a little on the melty bits. Had a far more testing moment after White Pine Bush on the first of the 35k corners heading south (don't know what that area is called - a ways before the Marae) when the front started to go and it was all I could do to haul the old girl back up! Got back in enough time to get along to see Crusty Demons and see how the crazies do it!!

All in all a great days riding!

Aye Col….. nice to hear you are out and about. You should drop in sometime. I can’t ride on Saturday avo’s so miss the local rides. I have work today but usually we can ride on a Sunday.
The Valley is the Tangoio valley you had the moment in, by the sound of it. Lots of melted tar. Patrick and some of the K/B clan are down at Manfield today slugging it out on the track.

A good day for sure, and bloody hot.
My Pilot Road2s are damn near shredded!

Dale & I went down early Sat, set up camp and had a blast.
Of course Paddy was there riding around everyone, great rider for sure.

    Was a real learning curve.
We were in the medium group which had some fast guys plus some of the smaller race bikes.

Bit nervous as my first time ever on a track, and as they say huge difference between road and track riding!!!

First few sessions were hit or miss as I was learning the track, made lots of errors but in the third it all came together and I think I passed about 8 or so bikes, was an awesome buzz.
So out for the 4th session, was going real well, hard up the butt of a guy on a race bike into the first corner.
Left my braking too late, oh fuck......off the track at the end of the straight on the grass into the shingle, thinking.....here comes a drop.
Fortunately the shingle was so soft it bogged down and sunk so that when momentum was lost I managed to get my short legs down and stop a drop.....so all good!!!
Session before I'd bounced the rear end under braking there too, was a bit hairy.

Was having probs all day with that corner and getting my braking right for it, so went out for the last session trying to sort it which I did and got into the groove well.

So an awesome day, Ducati ran well cept for on the straights when the litre Jappas would eat me up of course........need more horsepower!!!!

Dale had a blast rode well, and his VTR was humming.

Have reg for Motto TT Taupo on 27th Feb, so the learn starts all over agin.
Anyone wanna come, room on the bike trailer.

Would have stopped by matey but... ummm... neither of us have been up there yet and don't know the way...
I'll be about today after we've finished setting up Greenmeadows NW. Geez!! I come up and she makes me work!

Good stuff Tony. Gota hate the over cooking the corner thing aye. Hehehehe Well done that man.
I recon it might pay to get a set of slicks for the track day if you are going to do them. Change them on and off yourself.

What bike was Patrick riding yesterday?

Will try the Duc at Taupo and if I find I want to keep doing TDs (which will prob happen) I will either get some real sticky rubber, and use the Duc only as a track bike, or flick one of my others and get a 675 Daytona for the track.

Patrick was on his RG once when he took me in the esses, then he rode Dan's GSX, when he took me again!!!

I followed him for a bit on his Zuki, watched him ride sweet. Real talent there.
Could catch him on the straights of course with my better top end with the more ccs, but no point trying to pass as the young fulla would just carve me up again round the bends and be gone. So best just let the experts go for it eh
Was a real learn alright, passed quite a few race 2 strokes but they would fly by round the bends leant right over if I had'nt got a good length on them before the corner.

I got a lot to learn and work on, but thats the fun eh.

Ahh ya gotta love it, all good!!!

    Wednesday and Saturday rides ?

I have inferred, from various posts in this very long thread, that there are rides weekly, on the above days , leaving from Mobil at 1730 and BP 1330 respectively.

    Is this the case ?
