in 82 it was the smalest production turbo ever built... turns over at 200,000rpm std boost was 17psi, purpous built for the CX unlike the other jap brands that used Mitsi or Hitachie turbs.
they last very well considering, all depends on the oil used.

Got my old girl started after two months sitting under the carport half exposed to the elements. Needed to use jumper leads but would only fire on one cylinder.Quite normal for the second cylinder to kick in after a minute or so but it wouldn't this time. "Quiet" ride down the street hoping it would fire. Nope. Hmmm I thought (a rarity I know), spark(shock from lead, not very scienitific, but hey), fuel ok(drained sludge from the carbs). Popped into the shed (real men have sheds) grabbed a spare new NGK (as you do), took the old oiled umteen year old plug out, fitted the noob and away she went.

Now off for a wee scoot around the "valley".

Oh and btw how does Troglidite (The Trog has a nice sounding ring to it) sound for a nickame for it. Well, I don't really care what others think. Just being polite that's all..................

Give it heaps I did. Wollowed, wobbled, farted and rattled noisily through the "valley". Met up with Pheps( she'd just done a virginal ride on her scooter thingy), Dogs and a chap on a Hyosung 250. Those who poo poo these are talking out their arses btw. Got home and a bloke from work turned up who'd just gotten his '80s dohc CB750F back on the road. Had a natter to him, about bikes obviously, for an hour or so then pizza, cuppa and time for an arvo nap. Just woke up

Broke and looking for parts to get a warrant on my CX400C. Rear shocks would be favourite. I think I can source fork seals for the front, but the rear shocks are in dire need of replacement. And if anyone has rev counter, that would be good too. Cheers

Rev counter not needed for warrant, rear shocks - are they really going to notice? Replace them later when you find some.
It seems to me the only thing you really need are the fork seals.

Well whatdiya know. On a whim put a new sparkplug (still got 6 spares) in the other cylinder for the Waitatangi day ride and whoooooooooooooo babbby! "Le Trog" scoots along now. No misfiring at all. Gets pretty close to it specified original top speed no worries. On private roads obviously officer. Had a ball yesterday. Must get a new set of handle bars though. I'm still sitting too upright. The Cheng Shin did a good job but is not warrentable now, so will be replaced. It so happens there's a spare wheel or two with tyres waiting to be fitted.

As the old saying goes "dont knock it till youve tried it"

I had 2 of them - the standard blue tanker for commuting (which it did superbly!!!!) and the greeny coloured Custom which did some of the best wheelies Ive ever done! (big tall gearbox)

As for the comment :"for all their reliablitly, theres phuck all of them about" - you dont see many RD350's or GS750's around either - what a lame comment !!!!!!

There's been quite a few CX/GLs come up for sale lately. They seem be sold pretty quickly.

Le Trog got a bit of a birthday this week. New front tyre, ME33. A spare I had in the shed. Back Shenko is getting down a bit but should pass a WOF ok. Will be replaced before winter sets in. Just pop the spare wheel in to the shop and "hey presto" a new tyre appears at the end of the day. It's around a 15 minute job to change wheels over. Boy I love shaft drives and m/cs with centre stands. Haven't got the twin disk front end on yet but it will happen. Going to have another shed clean up shortly. Isn't it amazing the amount of crap that accumulates as soon as your back is turned?

No the CX formerly known as the evil v twin thingy. The GL400 will be for used for parts only to keep Le Trog mobile. Peering into my crystel ball I do see another CX appearing in the near future.
