    Honda V5 production bike!!!

    I saw this on Motorcycledaily.com

"Several European publications have been reporting that Honda is developing a V5-engined 1200cc sports tourer as a replacement for the CBR1100XX Blackbird, to go on sale in 2006. The bike might be called a VFR1200, and it will supposedly feature MotoGP-inspired aerodynamic design.

Rumors say the bike may be the first production model to exceed 200 hp, and if it is marketed as a VFR it would likely receive Honda's next generation of safety features. Honda currently produces bikes with linked brakes and ABS, and there is some speculation that this next-generation "Super VFR" might feature a full traction-control system. "

Google "V5 vfr1200" and there's quite a bit on it. I wonder if the next generation CBR1000rr (possibly due 07) will be V5???

I'D BUY ONE JUST TO SHUT WINJA UP

I've been hearing stories like this for around 3 years now. According to Honda - it's gossip. But sure as shit there's some truth in there somewhere.

Although there was a report recently that an insider (allegedly some English guy who is Honda's top test rider) has just refused to sign off the Blackbird replacment. Apparently it handled like a dog ( no offence Spud).

I'll believe it when I see it in the flesh. And when I see it I'll buy one (if the missis will let me). Providing it doesn't have any VTEC shite in it.

    V5 1200 tourer???
Why not just a full GP-spec V5 1000 race-replica so we can all pretend to be Rossi or Hayden or Melandri...
Just kidding, we don't need a V5 excuse - I AM Rossi on the 125 Hyosung!
    ...and then I wake up...

I doubt honda will every put a v-series engine in the CBR brand. I think it would destroy nearly 20 years of the brand.

They may put a v-series engine in the VFR/VTR brand tho, considering thats what they have traditionally done.

Could be a goer. After all, they have already raced the V5 for the last year now.

It has been widely reported that Honda dealers have been instructed not to sell the new V5 to existing GSX-R, ZX and R1 owners as their willies are too small

Two fairly different bikes in those pics there, alarumba. Like them both, love that single sided swingarm.

Wonder if this means they will be making a range of bikes with this engine? Is that too much to hope for?
