    In Praise of Modern Machinery

    I rode out today
    Over Ragalan way
'Tis a shit-hot road over the hill
    But 'twas slippery as glass
I near fell on my arse
On a nasty wee dieselly spill

    I was ginnit a burn
through the first left hand turn
When the fumes come up under me lid
An' I thought for a bit
    "Oh Fuck! I'm in shit!
Here cometh the demon of skid!"

But at t'end of the day
    Everything was OK
A wee sidestep was all that she did
    We stayed on our wheels
    Showed the corner our heels
That wee bike did all she was bid

    Now the diesel no doubt
Had come out of the spout
Of a fuel tank attached to a truck
    I'm beginning to think
    That some drivers are stink
They really just don't give a fuck

    So here's what I say
    'Bout the bikes of today
    "They're better than ever before"
'Cause if I'd been so bold
    On 650's of old
I'd have busted my arse - maybe more...

Yes...I have a lot of time of my hands these days......

You may well be right about the breakdown! And maybe the tyres too. But a good frame and decent suspenders can make much difference...
