    CCC loop on 17th Nov

Anybody keen on a Christchurch, Cheviot Culverden loop on Sat the 17th November? Plug, Transalper and I did this back last November and it was a good 300km day with a mixture of seal, gravel, and grass sections with some good views.

Ride from Chch at 9 am from the Peg to Greta Valley via the seal, down to Motunau Beach, up the coast via gravel road and grass public access farm track to Gore Bay, across to Culverden, then west to Cheviot via grass/dirt Random Spur and gravel road then home via Pyramid Valley (gravel) if time or otherwise Weka Pass (seal).

Can be done on adv tyres although grass farm track and Random spur road could be slippery if wet.

    Cheers R

    Thumbs up

I am keen, just have to see how the broken arm is after the trail ride the weekend before. It sounds like an interesting ride!

Guess I'm in, very keen to do it again.
You know it's a long weekend for us Cantabs... the Friday is off on my Calander... which has been known to be wrong on the odd occasion.

Forgot about show day but was trying to avoid the Burt the next weekend. Doesnt seem to be a problem though as lots of possible starters. Looking forward to the getting back to the two wheels.

How come you've been off them? Didn't break something again did you?

Yep I've been swanning around Europe trying to make sure the Italians and French dont know that I'm a kiwi so they cant hassle me about the rugby. At the moment it is 8.07 in the evening (compare with post time) in the north of Sweden above the Arctic circle.

I've attached a google earth kml file of where I am. Back in NZ on about the 28th of Oct.

Yeah, sounds like fun-tho all the talk of broken bones is not too encouraging seeing as I'm practically a trail virgin (and quite attached to being in tact). Still there's only one way to learn...how dya feel about babysitting?

Slightly off topic, but what is the random blue "lake/pond" north east of your location?

.... if it's not been to wet. The big red gravel express & I don't like mud! Looks like there will be a few of us slow un's to to keep you company Mistress so join in the fun. The chook chasers can do their thing in the mud I'll just be pottering along slowly in those bits. Cheers, TG.
