    Nice write-up. I posted the attachment a couple of years ago but I'm re-posting my article on laser wheel alignment as it goes hand in hand with chain tightening. I'm not suggesting that you need to do it every time you adjust the chain but it gives you a good starting reference if it's never been accurately done before. Good alignment makes a huge difference to handling.

    This was a low-cost simple set-up. Pixie has built a properly engineered version which could be built by those with access to decent engineering facilities.
