    Seen a good movie lately?

Today I went to the cinema and saw the latest Terminator Salvation. Quite good actually. I recommend to the ones who seek for "lots of metal", "lots of mechanical", "lots of guns and bullets" and "high speed" action.
Highly not recommended for romantic/ drama seeker. In another words, it's not a very good dating movie, hence I went alone (alone was alright. There were about 12 people in the cinema including me because it was in the morning etc).

I won't say anyting about the movie, because I might spoil the fun.

    Good movie. I rate 7/10.

P.S. A massive LOL at Arnie

    Død Snø, AKA Dead Snow.

Fuck you all, this is the best movie of 2009.

EJ -- you're the sentimental type -- Wong Kar-Wai's new film is supposed to be out soon, The Grand Master. First film that isn't... quite so love-stricken lol. It's got Tony Leung so you know it'll be good.

Actually the last good film I saw was Korean, and fairly old, but new to me. Don't know much about Korean cinema, you'll have to recommend me some. 웰컴투 동막골 (Welcome to Dongmakgol). I laughed and laughed and laughed then cried a bit then laughed then cried a bit again.

They're playing the new Terminator movie at the Embassy so will go see it there, hubby thinks it's just cause I have lusty thoughts about Christian Bale... but I am actually interested in the movie.
Looking forward to the new Transformers movie coming soon too.

    No, I haven't.

I was going to watch one or two on the flight to/from Adelaide last weekend, but I couldn't muster up enough interest. I'm glad I didn't - I finished the fat book I was reading and gave it to the vifferbabe (who was too busy chatting to the flight attendant to read it), then listened to some CDs I'd have missed out on otherwise.
I enjoyed them so much, I scribbled down the details on my bookmark, and had a hunt for the titles in some record stores in Adelaide - no luck!
Checked JB Hifi's substantial collection (they were in stock in Albania, but strangely not in the Adelaide store), then thought I'd 'waste my time' by checking the Warewhare for what I thought were semi-esoteric albums, and was surprised to find them! Saved about $15.
    ... and that's what I think.

    Or summat.

    Or maybe not...

    Dunno really....

Hey EJK, Yeah, I went and saw this yesterday too. Similar impressions. I didn't know Arnie was going to make a cameo, I got a big surprise, followed by shock, followed by lols. I went alone too, but not for the reasons you gave. In my case it was just cos I couldn't find anyone to go with me to a movie at 2pm on a Thursday afternoon on the spur of the moment.
I like all the Terminator movies, as well as TSCC as well, so I enjoyed it: although some parts are just horribly corny.

Disclaimer: I am a Star Trek fan (well, original series, even numbered movies, select DS9, TNG not so much Voyager or Enterprise)

the new Star Trek rules. Go see it even if you arent a fan. You dont need to know anything about TOS, Star Trek canon, be a fan of the Shat*, know anything about the Star Trek universe or anything. The movie flat out works. Its the only film since Serenity I have paid money to see more than once at the pictures.

If you ARE a fan, there are a bunch of throws to TOS stuff to keep you entertained, enough backstory to keep you amused, and a plausible** explanation as to why things arent like they used to be in the '60's.

GO SEE IT, its worth paying the money to see it on the big screen.

    *and who isn't?
