For sale: Dr650

This bike has sold.

I'm the second owner and have owned the bike for the past 14000km. I've been fastidious with maintenance and have a manual with all work recorded.

I've set this bike up and used it for adventure riding. It has a 18l IMS tank, custom made bars for soft panniers, and a custom made tail rack. The forks have progressive springs and it has a skid plate. The tyres are Dunlop D606's that are about 2/3rds worn.

With the IMS tank the bike will travel about 280kms before reserve when adventure riding and about 330kms before reserve when road cruising.

It comes with the factory 13l tank which is in good condition, a new seat cover, factory fork springs and spacers and a workshop manual.

Bike has been serviced for sale, oil and filter changed, air cleaner cleaned and reoiled. Forks were serviced (seals and oil) at the beginning of 2008. Chain and rear sprocket about half worn and it has a new front sprocket.

If anybody has a XTZ 750 Super Tenere or XRV 750 Africa Twin for sale I'm keen to talk. My wife gets jealous when she sees the pictures and would like to come adventuring with me.

Good luck with the sale Ryan, thats a fair price for a well set up and maintained DR, great buying for someone!

I understand where your coming from with the pillion option, I struggle to find a mid sized adventure bike that offers the choices of luggage capacity and a comfortable pillion, I've almost talked myself into a GS........

Go wash your mouth out! I'm thinking XRV750 or XTZ750 as they are suppose to be better off road and they should fit me reasonably well. Obviously the dream is a ktm 9x0 but that's not going to happen

Good looking bike? I've never heard the end of the purple jokes from my family so just to make a point when I got the chain gang sprocket I got a purple one and the chain happened to be yellow/gold. I guess this makes it one of the gayest coloured bikes out there

And after being completely ignored in two of them I ended up having a good conversation with the team in Boyd Motorcycles.

Looks like the DR might be the way to go for me. I just have to find a way to come up with 9 grand for the new one!!

As for the colours.. some people just cant handle style

The DR is one of the more reliable 650 bikes out there. Unless you really need to/want to don't bother with a new one. There are a few foibles to watch out for but they are all easily sorted and if you do some searching you will find all you need to know.

I know there is no need to buy new.. but just once I would like a new bike .. heheh ... will depend if my natural scottish cheapness is stronger than my desire for a brand new bike.
