Last chance for a homemade fruit cake...

My two charity auctions close in about half an hour - if you want homemade cakes/steamed puddings and other goodies, check them out:

And if you feel like helping others less fortunate than yourselves out, Linton Army Camp has a huge fundraising effort on December 2 to raise funds for Nathan Blackler, a soldier who has terminal cancer. He has had two bone marrow transplants but not beaten it unfortunately. While in remission in 2004 he walked the length of NZ to raise $60,000 for child cancer, so he is worthy of your support. There will be a monster garage sale, carnival rides, etc at the camp that day.

That's cool. I hope Santa brings you an especially large present this year.
They shall not grow old as we that are left grow old.
Age shall not weary them nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the evening,
    we will remember them

Well, you guys missed out but a couple of animal lovers won the auctions - one for $60 and the other for $86 but she has rounded it up to $100 with a request that someone give the cats and dogs roast chicken on Christmas day with the extra! Aren't people lovely?

So, together with the donations I've received from other TM members, and the $150 for the two kittens we're getting on Friday, I can hand over a cheque for about $400! Not bad even if I do say so myself!

Oh, and I am expecting a BIG present this year anyway, considering the other half has already had most of his presents - tickets to the Rolling Stones AND the Radio Hauraki anniversary concert, The World's Fastest Indian DVD and a radar detector... plus he'll get extras on the day, of course!
