    Hey Bud,

This is a cool project. Would love to document it on our site if you wouldn't mind? It is the sort of thing our readers would be interested in.

    Let me know.

    Cheers

why not, the only problem i would see is finding tyres speed rated to cope. i can picture sitting on the engine with a custom extended swing arm with stock rear wheel and a larger front wheel, i think all it would serve would be a real fast drag scooter, as the wheel base would be huge.

Cheers, ill get some more pics up tonight. so far half the loom is done, i have got an adapter plate for the carb which needs to be port matched to get it running nicly, however have given it life, and started first kick.

Update to the build. have been working on the wiring which is complete for all the engine componants only lights to be done. have fitted the carb on the best angle with the adapter plate so the fuel can feed into the carb freely, and have started it. goes fine but no gasket between the adapter and head so i guess there is air leak which is making the revs fluctuate, which is not to worrying as i need to dremmel out the adapter to port match the intake.

engine is going to come of the frame as the shock needs to be repositioned as there is a clearance issue with the shock and tyre (only 1mm clearance with a 3.00/10" tyre) will be moving a good 15mm over which will gve plenty of clearance to fit a 3.50/10" slick.

While the engine is out ill finish the frame with its front end and handle bars which are downhill mountain bike bars kindly donated by a friend.

    more updates to come.

You should bring it here: SCOOTER DYNO DAY at Henderson Yamaha, Auckland. 27th June @ 1300. Would be cool to see what it now does. What would it be compared to back when it was standard, a bit of before and after...

went for its maden run yesterday, didnt have a spare bike battery so i strapped a car battery to the floor of the frame.

was very happy with the result, suspention felt good, engine felt good, and it powerwheelies of the mark with little effort and this is with the engin untuned and running rich as F%^K.
