    Muffler of Choice?

I have a great opportunity through my current insurance claim to choose any muffler (slip on) I want within NZ$1000 price range. So based on price and availability I am considering titanium Micron, Arrow, and Scorpion cans (in that order). I would prefer a Yoshimura but have been told that the wait is 12+ weeks

If anyone owns or has owned any of these brands I would be most interested in your opinion? Thanks.

I love my Micron can on my '97 CBR600. Sounds great & seems to be good build quality.

I had both the Microns and the Scorpians - prefer the sound of the Microns in all honesty on a multi.

I've got a Neptune on my CBR and it sounds wonderful.

Hmmm...they look alright and their website claims they are no worse in performance than other reputable brands. NZ made is a good thing, but they don't come in Titanium.

Jim, any idea on an approx. price? I have emailed them for a P&A.

    Aussie mufflers!!!

Probably wouldn't get one myself because they look identical to the OEM one that I am removing...not that looks are too important.

I have fitted a set of Scorpion Titanium mufflers to my 1400 and am pretty happy with the sound and finish as long as you peel that horrible stuck on logo off. It's bound to lift of as the pipe gets older anyway and then you are left with a hard blob of adehsive. Get it off before you run them.
As happy as I am with the pipes my first choice would be the Micron Titanium.

Could they make that Arrow can any longer!?

Looks like a mortar firing tube.
Might keep the cops at bay.

But then, you may like the James bond - mortar firing look

So they use a sticker and not a metal badge like most others?? Mustn't have had enuf complaints to warrant abolishing the sticker?

I've seen a few that had started to peel off but in saying that, I've seen a few that were as good as gold. I didn't want to take any chances so off mine came. Besides that I think they look quite good minus the decal. Nice clean finish.

$449 for the muffler, and $50 for the connector pipe. Mine is in brushed Stainless and an oval. I can confirm that the top end was markedly improved, and there was a little mid-range dip that went away.

Mark is also a top bloke and dropped me off and picked me up to/from work when he did the job. Obviously not an option in Auckland, but it goes to show what sort of business he runs.

I was in red baron last week and saw the XV1700. Now if the Arrow is a mortar then the standard muffler on the road warrior is a howitzer. The sales guy called it the hot water cylinder.

I have Scorpions on the Storm (and I like my colour matched badge, still well stuck on ) With the V2 the sound is more high pitched sounds more 2 into 1 sounding I would prefure a lower note so I dont know how they would sound on a 4cyl.
The biuld quality is bloody good as is the finish but still the other brands you mention are a more popular brand tis up ta you Z.

ps: Grump's those titanium's look 'sweet' <--- cos the badge is missing other wise it would of been a 1

The Zrex gets a Neptune next week. I hope that it sounds as good as the Kerker. Even a longer wait on these than the Scorpions, Zed...
