Soldburger.
Well, the time has come to part with the faithful NZ250. I've had it for about two and a half trouble free years, only selling to upgrade.
It's a 250cc DOHC air cooled single, 4 valve, puts out roughly 30hp (same motor as the early DR250). Done about 95k, could go up as I do ride it. Motor was rebuilt by the owner before previous (which was nudemetalz) at about 74k, though I can't prove it. Fairing and tank were repainted by crazefox when nudemetalz owned it.
It's an excellent bike for a learner: quick off the mark (leaves GNs & SRs etc for dead), very economical (around 30km / litre) and reliable - I've had no issues with it. Dead easy to ride, revvy motor with good pep for a 250, handles well, very flickable, can leave bigger sportsbikes behind in the Port Hills and over the Akaroa hill depending on what sort of rider you are
General wear and tear, starts first time (electric start, no kick), uses small amounts of oil gradually - I think it leaks rather than burns it as the motor gets oily, but it doesn't leave oil stains on the ground - but I only top it up about 200ml every couple of months so it doesn't lose much.
Done plenty of maintenance myself and had more done at the shop: new fork seals and fork internals less than a year ago, have receipts; front brake pad recently replaced, new brake shoes in rear drum, near new rear tyre, front still over 50% tread, chain and sprockets regularly lubed. WOF and rego are current.
It's a bargain for a registered, warranted 250 at $2000 ono, much cheaper than most other options. Due to it being a learner bike, cash before test ride, just to be safe.
Now on trademe.
