If you like being totally recognisable on a bike, go right ahead.

+1... just think how easy it is to remember those, compared to normal plates.

I have always subscribed to the 'lulz > anonymity' school of thought.

some bikes are just recognisable, be it the colour scheme or the bike.

Yellow for example, is an extremely forgettable colour of course...

I don't mind the idea of a perso plate on a bike, especially if it is quite clever. The downside is obviously the "stand out" aspect of it as everyone stated.

    Piano hinges anyone?

    I like witty plates.

However I strongly dislike the price for a new plate.

Too much money and the loss of anonymity factor as well. I am always in my hi-viz suit, so I am always stealthy anyways...

There are some great plates available. BIATCH, FUCKEM, spelled backwards are just a couple of fun ones. Check out the plates site and see what you can get away with. www.plates.co.nz

Well I have already blown my anonymity with the makeover my bike has had! I have always liked personalised plates, I never really thought about them as an "oh no! Someone will recognise me!" factor...but I can see the point being made.

Actually I fully intend to get a plate... got a few ideas, its just a matter of $$'s now LOL

The plates site saying that something's available is no guarantee that a human won't veto it after you actually apply to register it (they do check these things); good luck getting any spelled-backwards swear words approved, etc.

I've thought about it, but if I had that sort of money to spend on the bike, I'd find a better use for it - like improvements to the front suspension, or a complete service.
    ... and that's what I think.

    Or summat.

    Or maybe not...

    Dunno really....

    Yes and no, really.

I used to have a red Hyosung and I would have liked to have got the plate RDDVL for it - Red Devil - which makes sense to me as I am also a big Manchester United fan.

But I agree with the comments about the fact that you would make yourself less anonymous plus it would be better to spend the money on something else, e.g. a service, aftermarket pipe, etc etc.
