Rear shock?

Yup - took it to Colemans and they showed me how it sounded (and I quote) "squishy"

New seal kit in to and she's good to go.

Mine must have been serviced at some stage as its still quite stiff, and no leaks etc.

It does start to fade after an hour or so's riding and you can feel it getting a bit pogo-ey at the back.

New front tyre is the next item on the agenda though.

I'm currently running a Z4 on the rear and have a spare Z4 for when that dies.

The front's a Z3, and it's horribly triangulated, causing the bike to drop really fast when you tip it in hard.

I'm thinking Z6 as I'm going to be going back to 80km commute each day again. WMCC have one for $215 + $45 fitting.

Do you guys agree? Or is there something better suited for me?

you've got a Z4 waiting to go on,so i guess you'll be sticking with the Z's for a while yet...
Last week i got a Diablo Strada from Boyd Honda,Hamilton, for $180.
From the reviews i found online of guys getting knees & pegs down on Stradas, and no slides, figured it's all the tyre i'll ever need!

you mentioned "horribly triangulated wear"; mine had done the same. I guess it's cos we trail the front in trying to slow all that weight....?

I know bog all about the tires listed, but I'm running Battleaxes front and read and I'm more than happy. 15,000km out of the read and there's another 2 or 3 thou in it yet I reckon.

I'm thinking about imprting one from the US - worth me asking about one for you at the same time? (they're about 1/2 rice... ish but with a delivery delay)

My rear shock is definitely in need of a service, this summer's touring has finally been too much for it. What sort of cost am I looking at to get it serviced?

As far as tyres go, I was going to put Z6's on it late last year but I was convinced that I should try Avons on it (guess who by!? ). So far I am very happy with the Avons I must say. I have an Avon Azaro ST46 on the rear and an an Avon Viper Sport AV59 on the front. After about 5500km (including a track day and Akl-Wgtn-Akl) the rear is just starting to square off and the front is holding up well. The Dunlop 208 and 218 I had previously on the front had triangulated much more by that mileage.

I'd run the Avons again but I might try the Z6's just for comparison's sake.

only had my rf for about a week but already blown away by it and thats coming off a sixxer. as for tyres, black and round will do, the bikes so easy to ride I dont think it would matter too much. im not even trying and im having problems booting down and thats with the toe up on the peg to avoid it. all round fanbloodytastic bike. only one complaint, does anyone know what you can do about the seat, my sixxers seat was more comfortable. happy trails everyone

I picked up a genuine Suzuki touring seat from TradeMe a while ago. It is much more comfortable than the standard seat without being overly restrictive in terms of moving around (like the Corbin seats can be). It is also flatter and higher through the pillion area which reduces those intimate moments with the tank that arise when braking hard while carrying a pillion. Why Suzuki didn't just fit these as standard I don't know!?

If you can't find one of these I'd go with McDonald's Motor Trimmers as Lou suggests.
