Thought I might put this here to gauge any interest in something so mucked around with.This started out as a XT400E,but now has a 1988 kick start donor engine,with a new 97mm piston.I have lots of spares - the other bottom end needs to be put together,either the 400 cases which have been bored out to take the 600cc barrel,or some '94 cases which have the external 5th gear oil supply pipe.It needs a rod kit for the flywheels,which are readily available.There is the complete '88 bike but the frame is different to the '92.But it gives extra wheels,an 18in for the rear,forks etc.Carbs,exhausts,blah,blah,blah - enough stuff to give someone who really likes to play around with bikes hours and hours of fun.It has a 20 litre Acerbis tank....and lots more parts.

I haven't done a LVV for it,mainly because I would do that when the correct electric start engine is fitted...no point in getting it certed for the wrong engine.The XT400E is exactly the same as the XT600E of the same year,even the carbs and exhaust are the same size.The intake airbox and exhaust outlet were the only restrictions to snuff air flow - both have been removed to allow the 621cc engine to breath.

So,if someone is looking for a running project with potential,this could be it....?

sorry for my confusion here - but is she now rego'd....... or was that back when she was a 400?

It has rego...was supposed to go on hold but seems to have been done for 12 months.
