Yeah, my mistake, I was just meaning it did not have the word Katana on it.

If you love it, let it go. If it comes back to you, you've just high-sided!

Hmm, never noticed that on MY XN85, will have to go and look again...

To clarify though, my reference was to the fact that on my XN85 I could only find the Katana logo on the petrol tank - I was not refering to your Kat or XN85 or anything like that in case you have your wires crossed!!!

The july 82 issue of Two wheels has an article on the XN85 with a colour pic showing a black seat.
And Which Bike (UK) Buyer's guide 83 has them with a black seat, and Bike Buyer (UK) winter 84 has listed with Black seat also.

Hmmm, and the Ausie REVS mag of May '82 shows a black seat, mines an ex-USA bike, maybe they had different colours there - or maybe it's been recovered?
Whatever, it has been well done.

Could be standard ? a mate of mine had a imported 1100 Kat that had what had been a light brown coloured seat, by the time he got the bike it had faded to a caramel colour which looked quite good in the flesh and it was factory original.
doesn't matter what the colour is in all reality as long as its comfy lols, and its only splitting hairs unless you want a fine Sundays only showbike

got rid of me kat i did

Well things come and things go, The Kat hes been retired from racing and put back on the road. After riding the oll pig over to the coast I relised that racing wasnt for it, to tidy and too comphy along with the weight and effort needed on the smaller tracks I figered Id try something new.

Bloody two strokes... yeah well Ill give it a go, hell they are fun to ride so I found me a 350LC in need of a reblild. So attached is the last pics taken of the Kat and a few of the new shit box pre 82 race bike.
