KBers that went to Tiniroto Tavern 25th July

The owners of said tavern, emailed the admins, with some pictures of your group there

    Enjoy

Should you ever wish to start one of your journeys from Tiniroto there is
plenty of accomodation available, not just in the Tavern but in the local
shearing quarters, if the guys don;t mind 10th star accomodation without
the frills. But it is cheap: the tavern rooms are $25 a night and I am
sure a reasonable charge will be made for the quarters. The owner will
find that information out for you if you guys wish to do this. Collin
Campbell the owner of the Tavern has said he would be pleased to find new
bike routes for you in the local area which you may not be away of. We
were discussing this last Sunday in fact about an alternative route coming
down the Ohuka from lake Waikaremoana.
Should you venture this way again, and need something special for the
biker warriors then e mail us and let us know what your wishes might be.
I am sure we will try and accomodate your wishes.
    yours

Colin Campbell sounds like a good bastid.
Will support that pub when I can.
An adv ride based from there could be awesome.

Started raining just as Cary, Crazy Steve and myself got there (We were leading the race at that point) and had stopped when we left. But a little rain never hurt anyone.

Not a bad place eh? I was last there a few years ago and it still looks the same on the outside. I think it was the time we rode CT110's and a YSR80 from Napier to Gisborne and back.

Yep, the Tiniroto pub was a very enjoyable stopover. I have looked at that route they mentioned, cutting the corner down from Tuai, time & fuel considerations may make it hard to include in the MMMMM but I think we'll have to do some more exploring out there to find out.

My ride report is over on Advrider:

    Cheers
