Small and quick trip to Huia

Hello yall, what did you guys do today?
Man! the weather was fine! So I looked at the map searching a quick destination to go to

Righty ho, I found a small place called Huia which is located on the west of Auckland.
The road starts from Titarangi, and its about 13km. A warm up ride should I say lol

    So there I went!
Anyway, the Huia road was FABULOUS! It was AMAZING! There are plenty of GP style S corners that you can really l~e~a~n without any scary thoughts.

The speed limits are between 50 and 70 so I think it's ideal for learners who wants to go for a quick but EXCITING ride

So, after my 13 kilometers of GP style ride, I arrived at this fabulous place called Huia.

First of all, the view was absolutly breath taking... just fabulous!
I just can't describe it in words so please please please VISIT THERE!

After about another 2 kilometers on the road, There was a ford! (not a car brand)
Oh yes, I didn't recognised it at first, so I went across the ford at about 40kph. And yes, there was a SPLASH~!
My shoes were wet, so as my jeans... lol

I kept on going, and I reached the Huia Damn. I mean dam lol
I went up the damn, went off the bike and took some beautiful shots of photos. Beautiful view I miss it already hahaha

Overall, My trip to Huia was like finding a buried treasure. I didn't know there was this beautiful town nearby! Wonderful road on the way too!

So, Dear newbies and all those beginner riders who has the ego to tour but doesn't have confidence to go so, THIS PLACE IS PERFECT for you!
Please have a visit! and remember! SLOW DOWN OR YOUR UNDERPANTS WILL GET WET!

P.S. The FORD is a MUST place for all of you to visit

P.P.S Pics to be uploaded later

There he goes. One of God's own prototypes. Some kind of high powered mutant never even considered for mass production. Too weird to live, and too rare to die.

Funny how many beautiful places are right on Auckland's doorstep yet so few know about them.

How about Henderson Valley and all that? One second you're in suburbia the next you're in farmland the next the Waitak's.

Another good place is South Head, stop off at Shelly Beach for a feed (big basket of chips for $2), is right on the water with white sand ... up to south head there is a little bit of gravel in one section towards the end, even if you turn around there and come back is an awesome ride, some long sweepers to enjoy for all levels.

To get there, just head towards Helensville hot pools and keep going
We childproofed our homes, but they are still getting in.

Nice pix. don't you love the freedom a small outlay of $3700 gives. Perfect roads for the little single cylinder cheapies (how does the yamaha go).

    Excellent on roads like this!

Because it's a single cylinder, the bike feels like horse riding on low rev
It also has enough power to satisfy my need for speed (so far enough...)

Ride that road everyday to work in the city, love it especially in summer. they did some patch repairs a month or so back and made a real mess of it but it's still a great ride, until you get to Titirangi and join the rest of the world going to work! Don't tell too many people about it, be good to keep it to ourselves!
