Just about started a girl-on-girl rumble today!

Firstly I don't condone violence BUT you know how some days you wake up and you just know that if some punk pushes your buttons you're very likely gonna slap them.

Well it is one of those days today and I came about as close as I ever have to starting a girl on girl rumble.

    Story goes like this:

Took my wee boy to the supermarket today to get some bits and bobs and while looking for a park close to the door the lady in front of me pulled into the last "expectant mothers & caregivers with small children" parking spaces.

All good...there are heaps of parks clolse so I pootle into one, park up and got my boy out the car and over to the footpath. As I do this I watched that woman 'who parked in the mothers parks' get out of her car, lock it and sauntered into Starbucks. No kids in tow or left in the car, nor any car seats to be seen...btw clearly she was not an expectant mother (skinny as a rake she was so even is she were expecting it were the kind of expecting that doesn't make crossing a road difficult)

Typical! I thought and started to feel my blood boil.

Then as I was getting my boy into the trolley for a ride around the supermarket I watch as a woman with 3 littlies all under 5, struggle to get them all out of the car and safely across to where I was. I offered to wait with her littlest one in the trolley next to me, and appreciatively and breathlessly she thanked me and got the other two out of their carseats.

Anyway the more I thought about this the more it pissed me off. SO feeling in the "dying for a round with someone' mood - I decided that I wouldn't just let it be and approached the biarch sitting on her bony arrogant arse in the coffee shop.

I said Excuse me, I just have to say this...I think it is very rude of you to park in those parks and then went on to explain about the lady with the three kids. To this the woman rolled her eyes and snarkily said "well good on you" to which I replied...Hmmm figures! Your an arrogant bitch - bet you park in handicap spaces too' turned on my heals and walked off...of course she reacted by shouting some verbal abuse of her own after me...i calmly spun back around and told her to "talk to the hand" and walked off...cos if I stuck around I know things may well have escalated.

Later as I perused the bread isle a little old lady approached me and said "good on you dear for having her up about that - it's just not on when people do that", and she went on to explain that she has a handicapped daughter who is constantly put out by people like this.

So we had a little chat about how Rude, arrogant people like that woman get away with this behaviour and continue it. Musing about whether because they mostly go unchallenged they continue and others also will do it without thinking too much about it. She agreed, but of course being a little old lady said she would never confront someone about it.

WELL I say - let's all stand up and let these pricks know that this is unacceptable and that while by 'parking there' (and that womans instance taking her sweet time in the coffee shop) they 'get away' with it I at least I hope I pissed her off and embarrased her enough that she might think twice about doing it next time.

Probably not though! The snooty bitch, while clearly riled and somewhat taken aback that I called her on it, in front of a full cafeteria of people is clearly the kind of muppet who doesn't give a shit about anyone beyond her own perfectly made up face - btw all that makeup wasn't really helping matters anyway!

PS: I wouldn't hesitate to do this again either and no I don't think that I should've been more polite about it...Fark her and anyone else who does this...to me there is NO excuse...and I don't think "I'm going to be really quick" is a good enough either.

They shall not grow old as we that are left grow old.
Age shall not weary them nor the years condemn.

good on you. people parking in the wrong parks drives me nuts. mum and i were in salvation army the other day. there a certain type of car in the sole disabled park. a certain type of 10 year old-ish boy sitting in the front seat. i waited until the certain type of mother was near by, and then made a comment to mum about it.

we get a couple of regular customers who are in wheelchairs. i remember one time one of them held a sign up at the driver window which had assistance needed printed on it. my co worker made a snarky comment about it. she shut up pretty quick when i almost bit her head off. smart cow.

I'm sure you left a bigger impression than you think!

    Well done!

    OMG Good on you!!!!

It also makes my blood boil, when I see people park in the Mothers/Toddler car parks at the supermarket, get out of their cars with no kids!!! Pisses me right off, and I generally just give them my best "Arsehole!" look, but I havent got the balls to go up to them and say something.

Having three kids of my own, ages 3 to 9, its hard work trying to get them out of car and into car seats etc esp when its raining, so the close available car parks for Mothers/Toddlers is ideal.

Some people unfortunately don't give a shit, its just as bad as parking in disabled car parks.

    well done #1!!!!!! Thats awesome!

I don't think I deserve a medal or anything but I'd just like to say that I will give BLING to anyone who in future does confront someone about this.

Come on people - society needs to get a brain and stop being so damned selfish...and it takes us that actually aren't completely self involved to call them on it.

    to them all!

There are some stickers called "Please don't park in this space" that explain why mobility parks exist and who they're for. The best thing is, they are 'stickers' - with permanent adhesive .

Applied strategically to the windscreen right in the driver's forward view can be most affective

This is a good place to start: http://www.youparklikeanasshole.com/

I've often considered abusing the university printer and then have a stroll up and down the hill we live on. People just don't seem to get that parking in certain ways can be downright dangerous.

    ha haa GREAT!

A mate of mine - sick of cars parking in the bike parking had some stickers made up. They are flouro yellow with bold black print and permanent adhesive and they say "are you a just a fuckwit or do you always park like this?!"

He said he has only been soo inclined to use it once and plastered it on their drivers door window Good effing job I say!

    they suck.

i'm a solo dad with a 2 year old and a 4 year old. just getting them both safely out of the car and out onto the footpath can be pretty scary.
non-parents that use the parents parks need a fucking bullet.

While I empathise with you (and good for you, No.1 for rarking up the biartch), personally, I think these new-fandangled "parks for parents with kids, prams, tantrums, disorganised rabble, etc." are bollocks.
Disabled parks? (When not being used by 'disabled' peoples who seem perfectly able yet have an orange "Park wherever the fark I like" card).
    Special parent parks? :spudwhat:

We managed for years with three chitlins, one of whom is autistic, and never felt the need to park right next to the doors. Maybe we never saw parenthood as some kinda disablement. ANd making the little buggers walk a few hundred extra metres helped to burn off some of the mischieviousness.

    I don't really get it...
    ... and that's what I think.

    Or summat.

    Or maybe not...

    Dunno really....

It's a safety issue... So kids don't need to cross the road or anything. Good idea IMHO.

Appreciate what yer saying Vifferman however from my perspective it's a safety aspect.

For instance with my boy - who has no peripheral vision and not so great upfront vision either isn't always cogniscent of cars approaching.

Kids can move like lightening and while I only have one to look out for it can be quite tricky getting him out of the car and safely across the road with cars everywhere...and some stupid people travel quite quickly in these carparks too!

I can imagine the stress for parents of juggling a baby capsule and two littlies under five safely in these areas.
