Just had an update.

He's out of Emergency and is now in 1 of the 24/7 high dependancy units. Visiting is restricted to 2 people at a time so I'd suggest people hold off visiting until he's in a ward where visitor numbers aren't restricted.

Riding with The Moron Few, there would have been excessive speeds and much danger...
I'm guessing ~65kmh and a corner somewhere?
He was probably laughing so hard at "te few" and fell off.

it was more than likely a rear tyre blow out on the exit of a corner, which eventuated in a high side

I spent a bit of time pacing up and down the crash site, looking at the marks on the road, and picking bits of bike up

edit: BTW .. carver showed responsibility and maturity, and dealt with the scene very well, and communicated well with those that cared back in Hamilton
