I've ended up going with State, who will charge me a pretty reasonable $60/pa for 3rd party.
sorted! and thanks for the suggestions.

Finally got my learners this morning, and had my first real ride - about 45kms around Auckland. Was suprised at the amount of buffet (and wind noise) at motorway speeds!! got no fairing on the bike, see.
    wicked fun though

I've recently insured my bikes through Eric Wood motorcycles in Christchurch.
I managed to get both bikes insured for cheaper than one that I had insured through John Bakers, although I have to say I can't complain about the service at John Bakers.
Just for the record, you don't have to be local to deal with Eric Wood M/C's.
Just give em a call and ask for Brett.

Good on you mate! It feels good, eh? Screens don't cost a lot for the comfort they provide. Givi make a range that should include one for your bike.

Well done! Just ride, ride & ride some more. It's the only way you'll get better & more confident. Enjoy!

I got a good deal thru National Auto Club - $ 707 fully comprehensive with value of $13,000 for me & hubby. Had proof of full no claim discount from UK which was actually worth the paper it was written on! Haven't made a claim yet............................
Now that I come to think of it, I should reduce the value of the bike as the small print says they will only pay market value, oh well..............

That is the one I mentioned - M E Joblin ltd. You don't even have to go through Eric Wood. Advert is in latest Kiwi Rider.
