well, apart from the ride home from auckland on SH1 earlier this week, took the bus out to the wharepapa cafe with my 6' tall/70kg son on the back. awesome is the only way to describe it really. happily 20k faster than the TL everywhere except the straights, where obviously it's about 60k quicker. the gravity screen makes a huge difference. a slight vibe at 4800rpm (that's about !%)km/h in top), but it goes away at 6000. lean angles seem absurd - scraped my boots a couple of times, with the balls of my feet on the pegs. my son pillions really well - have to check he's still there sometimes - but to be honest i don't think it made that much difference - still ridiculous accelleration, and so very well planted on the road. managed to get rid of the previous owners 50mm chicken strips, down to about 5mm on the side of the 190/50/17 corsa. never gave me any scares - very sticky, but it's not gonna last long! having a gas gauge is great - better than a light (as per the TL).
as a pillion, he was really comfy, not too high, legs not too cramped, but still able to get hit by a bumble bee right in the middle of the visor. I heard it!!!
and, great coffee and cake at the cafe, awesome rock climbing vids going on, and best of all fantastic roads between mangakino/arohena/wharepapa/arapuni. only saw 2 other bikes out - someone out on a bmw - maybe a rockster, with someone behind on a GN250 or similar. saw about 5 cars, and a few silage tractors (f#*k would they hurt!)
next up i reckon will be a trip over the hill to raglan, just to ride the divvi, then maybe 22, then the coro loop to the beach house at whitianga......
