Made it home without the bike...

And it is a good thing - I think.

Set off this morning on the 600 with Bonez and Meanie. Headed out the piatutua track. Took about half way up the track to get the feeling for the old girl back and then it came flooding back. bonez set a very repectable pace over the track and the bike felt just as good as it always did. Through piatutua and out on a bonez adventure. Alfredton somewhere or other and back roads all the way to Masterton.
Sneaked through the waiarapa quietly without anyone noticing and up over the takas. Heaps and heaps of cars and trucks on the hill today. Pretty entertaining trying to get past them but we managed it.
Saw Kendogs at the rimutex station at the bottom of the hill. Can confirm that they are still on 2 wheels after the drive of the viper.

Down the motorway to Johnsonville to the meeting point and I had to hand the keys over to the new owner. Didn't really want to but he handed me a wad of $100 notes which softened the blow. I almost forgot how much I liked riding that bike. It was a good way to send it off.

Jumped on the back of Meanies bike for the second time this month. Ride home was very entertaining. Meanie decided to go over piecock hill. Fantastic idea if I was on my own bike. Peg scrapeing and I was getting a little nervous as Meanie threw the mighty VN round corners that are more suited to sports bikes.

Nice little altercation in Waikanae where a SUV decided we weren't going fast enough in a line of 23478932647 cars and undertook us while running out of room and getting far too close for comfort. Gave her a wave.

Made the rest of the trip pretty uneventful. Pleased to be home and hoping my pillioning days are over.

LOL, glad you guys made it home safely and that your "waving" hand got a little workout! Very difficult to pillion when you're used to being in control hey! Sounds like you had a nice farewell to the old gal!

I sympathise, maybe you would have been better going over the 'rapa. We've just arrived home from Napier and the finale of the Ride for Life. We missed you Comboyz, but we won't beat up on you .... Yungatart iss ging to do that all by herself ... hehehe

The 'rapa was as hot as hell this afternnon but as soon as we hit Featherston it got all mushy with millions of cars. When we stpped at the top of the hill, we could see the head of the queue we were in as far down the hill as you couuld see .. and the tail was still going past us!

But you guys would have been ok going the other way that's for sure

Don't you dare!! Looks like I'll be there (I hope) and who else will give me the learn??
Do you realise how many holes there could be if people would just take the time to take the dirt out of them?

Lol, actually, it was quite relaxing being a pillion, are you sure you haven't secretly been riding bikes for the last 20 yrs?

Awesome weather for the ride today, a good trip over to pahiatua and then some back roads to Masterton (he he he we made it through without being spotted) An ambulance crept up on cowboyz at the roundabout and gave him a blast on his siren made for entertaining viewing. a great run over the rimutakas dodging cages and big smelly cattle trucks I think i spotted lisa on the mighty GN heading north. A quick chat with the kendogs at riutex and off to Jville to offload the "ol piece of shit" as everyone has called it, even i was a little sad to leave it behind after all i have spent the last year or so following it
Decided to go over peakak hill and give cowboyz a taste of being a pillion on the back of the meanie with a little peg scrape thrown in for a little fun
Interesting ride through Wiakanae when some dumb young blonde decided to undertake me as the double lane ended and wasnt gonna button off for love nor money So a long blast from my niosemaker and a lot of finger wagging courtesy of bonez and cowboyz Thanks guys
Coffee at Otaki and then headed home
Heaps of bikes on the road enjoying the day and it was a good one
A very enjoyable day was had
