    Arrrrgh!
BUCKETING down here, about 400mm per hour (At least!), might have to locate my ancient Drizabone and bread-bags.

Hopefully not too bad inland and the forecast for tomorrow is better.

Leaving here about 9:30. Has been raining off and on for a while but it looks like it will break up inland, probably between Beaumont and Millers flat. I think the coastal route will be wet for a while yet. Ah well I suppose thats what wet weather gear, hot grips and Transalp hand guards are for !!
Take it easy and we'll see ya'll later - the ride home on Sunday should be worth it and actually the forecast for around Mt Cook for today was pretty good too.
Pucker up for those cherry stones!!

Bit of a shitty day out there. Comon D, you loooove cleaning bikes! just think of all the fun you'll have getting all that road grime out from between the cooling fins!

    Anyway, stay safe people.

Bloody cold in Alex this morning, but the rain has stopped and blue sky is starting to appear. Looks like a good day for riding.

PLeased to hear that - I've been telling everyone it will clear as we head inland ,if it doesn't I'll never hear the end of it! - I've already put the thermal linings back into everything!!

Crikey...looks like I'm the first to post after the trip!

A great turn-out of about 25 folks and a good night of restraint and self-control was had by all.

I didn't get away from home until 4pm and had dry roads all the way.

Woke up to a fantastic day today and most of us went for a ride up to Mt Cook - all except the South Otago boys, they all had problems with their heads I think?
A strange coincidence developing the same motor fault at the same time!

I'll leave it to others to provide a more full report.
As usual I didn't take a single photo all weekend.

It was good to meet up with a whole bunch of new faces.
    Cheers all.

    Southern KB rally!

Well, I have just got home from the inaugural South Island KB rally.

Bloody good week end, really good people, great ride home today from Otematata via Omarama, Mount Cook, Tekapo, Hakataramea and Kurow.

There was not any "sign" of any activity at the "Shearers Quarters" as I rode past, I think every one has left OK.

Really enjoyed your company boys and girls, lets do it again sometime! Cheers John.

Just a quick note from CB. Some sorry ass quietly crept in with a croaky voice and took the rural way home. Seems the heartburn he had was due to an apple. Yeah right. Next time he will have to take his momma and eat more appropriately and SHARE the drink. Says she who had a quiet bottle of cheap vino last night with mother (who cooked tea!!). Anyway someone is cleaning the bike of all those sticky things and heading for bed shortly no doubt. I'll just continue with the G & T and whatever else I come across. Sounds like you all had a good natter and ride to Otematata.

SD's heartburn caused by an apple, yeah right that bloody pepper scented tequila would be the main contributer me thinks 98tls should be the one to be concerned about looked horribly ill this morning but as part of the 4am crew it's understandable & getting up at 8am isn't the healthiest start to the day.

Had a bloody great time with a great bunch

Anyone mentions meals that fight back or mops mmm

here's a couple of whiskey casualties
