Just spoke to a lovely sounding lady at Kiwibike Insurance, when I asked about track days she said it depends on the trackday - more specifically KIWIBIKER track days as (wait for it) there has been a lot of claims!!!!!! She actually mentioned Kiwibiker!

    Good part - cheapest around.

So own up... who keeps claiming for their noob skills at KB trackdays and making my premiums go up to cover it!!!!

This is not the bike insurance you're looking for...

Actually, had a company email the other day saying blah blah, we'd like to give you a quote... so I emailed them back with my requirements, they emailed back to clarify some points, I replied, and then I never heard back. Why bother spamming me if you're not going to give me a quote??? I think 11 days is long enough for me to wait patiently...

It seems to me that the premium is based more on the CC rating of your bike rather than your age, experience or previous claims history. Shit I wish I could find an insurance company to charge me $400 for full insurance.

Has anyone with a bigger CC bike had any decent prices quoted to them?

Im covered thru Star insurance via Kiwibiker, and Im paying $509 per year for full cover for an 800 cc bike. and thats because Ive had 3 speeding tickets in two years,(otherwise It would have been around $430,) but also being an Old Fart may have helped...

Well I am now covered by http://www.jbinsurance.com/motorcycle.htm

Would Highly recommend them, and thanks to JetBoy the whole process was completed through a few PM's via KB ! How easy was that!

Saved a few hundred bucks compared to any others I tried too!

    Thanks JetBoy!

I am insured through David Golightly - broker, insurance is through Vero - I had a claim 2 yrs ago, dropped my R6 in shingle and messed up 1 side also damaging the pipe. I had fantastic service, no problems at all. Had the repairs done through Rides in CHCH and they practically repainted the bike. I ended up not getting a new yoshi pipe as they told me it would take up to 6 mths so I got a yamaha racing pipe - stunning sound. All in all it was a very good experience. My excess has now been dropped - company changed the way they do their excesses - and they now cover motorcycle clothing.
I work at State insurance and our premiums have decreased but our excesses have changed. The excess depends on the cc rating of the bike - the higher the cc the higher the escess.

I swapped from State to AMI because I was unhappy with the bike insurance premium, and now I've just swapped from AMI to Star through Kiwibike. For a $9k bike, 800cc, the premium dropped from $740 to about $540, the excesses from $1000 to $500, and my gear is included up to $2500 each for me and the pillionister. I could've got an even cheaper premium and excesses of $250, but I'm pretty happy.
I told them about the two tickets I had last year, but it made no difference.
    ... and that's what I think.

    Or summat.

    Or maybe not...

    Dunno really....

I very recently insured my with Swann through Kiwibike. I will not be insuring with Swann again. Three weeks ago I crashed my bike and sent in the claim form, I get a letter today telling me my excess is going to be $1800 and they are finally going to have a look at the bike to assess the damage. They should have had someone looking at it within a week of me sending them the claim form.
While you sit there liking things just cos' everyone else does, I'll be standing up here keeping it real.
