    All in good time.

Looks like things will get sorted, even if it does take a little while. But the main thing is, it's minor issues, and you seem to love the bike! Isn't it great knowing that it's yours, just waiting for you to get a licence?

I'm impressed by "Trucking Company's" quick response and looking into this. Good on them.

    Have fun.

Here's a mock up decal pic or two I did for the previous owner, not followed through with. Apologies to those without "M.S.word". Best viewed in print preview at 300% magnification

    Hey all,

Does anyone have any info about a paint or protectant or something that you can put on rusty exhaust manifold? I had a look under my bike yesterday, and the manifold is quite rusty and pitted, but I dont think its going to pack up soon - just wanted to know though if there is a paint or something you can put on them to make them last a bit longer, something that can handle high exhaust temps.

Also - does anyone have any suggestions to why the frame of my bike would have gotten hot yesterday after a ride? Ride was about 10 mins long, but up near the tank, on the right hand side, the temp of the frame was quite significant. The rest of the frame was quite hot aswell, but that part was the hottest. The bike temp on the gauge was not even half way though. All coolant etc is full. If anyone has any suggestions, or knows if this is normal, can you let me know please. I didnt notice it on my first big ride, but I did after this short one. The bike seemed alot hotter than normal. Bit stumped as to why.

Also - about the trucking company - I am really happy with them, and I dont have any complaints about the company, just this one insident by a possible individual. I have no negatives toward the company - incase anyone was wondering. They have a good reputation with me and my family still, and they are in my good books for looking into this like they have been. Well done to them

    Cheers

    Woot!

Just quoted my chassis number to the Kawasaki dealer in town, and they found out my bike is actually a 1997 Kawasaki ZX9R B4 (AS), not a 96! Free gain of 1 year, yay

AS I take it means Australian Spec, so its the nice grunty version

Are you doing it with Andrew at Roadsafe? I did, it was great. It was basically like a KB ride. Stopped at MacDonalds, went up Whitemans Valley, spent an hour or two in a parking lot doing various activities (one of those was taking pillion riders! You don't get THAT on your standard full test). Final section was on a set course. Very educational and benefical. Took about 8 hours though, including classroom theory (partly watching stunting videos!)

Just remember to take all the paperwork with you, including your LTSA acceptance letter, whatever licence you currently hold, the course fee, etc...
I got my big ticket 2 months after doing my cbta full license course, and never heard anything from the ltsa about getting put back to my restricted... so *shrug*

Hey WanaGo, your frame getting hot is fairly normal for bikes with alloy frames and full fairings, the heat has nowhere else to go, I've had a couple of VFR's etc and they were the same, nothing to worry about, just keep an eye on your temp gauge.
Whats the latest from Mainfreight, are they going to cover the damage?

    Hey Gav,

Sweet about the frame then, thanks
Still no more progress about the damage yet. Very slow process.
What we have heard to sum it up is this:
Video footage in Whangerei of bike being loaded onto truck in full clear bubble wrap as owner said he wrapped it.
A Photo of the bike in Auckland, not sure what time it was, so it may have been after it was unloaded, or may have been before it was reloaded, but the bike was in the full bubble wrap still. The guy we are dealing with didnt have the time in front of him to be able to tell us. That was a few days ago though, Will ring them again on Monday and say Oi.

NOTE: Can everyone that posts about the damage etc to my bike, can you not post the company name until the case is over, as it could have repucutions if somehow someone involved happen to read the post. Unlikely, but still possible. If you can do this for me, it would be appriciated.

    Thanks everyone

    WanaGo
