I recommend the hospitality - D&R are great hosts!

Will call in on the way back if I can find the new abode.

    You not going this year?

What, you want ice in your latte? ... that would make it an iced coffee - wouldn't get that along pony road!

We are heading down currently 5 on 4 bikes, doing a wine and restaurant tour.
If the weather is fine, over Arthur's, down the w coast staying in Fox, over Hast and up to the rally.
If the weather is average, down MacKenzie country staying in Tarras-Cromwell area.
If the weather is bad going down SH1 staying in Oamaru.
Or back these ways depending on the forecast.
I don't think you are going to have any difficulty finding an Iced coffee, just buy a hot one and leave it outside at night for an hour. The coldest it has been while we were there was -14 C, the warmest a balmy +4.

Yeah I know, The great think is that as we round the corner into another rally season after the "chill down", I get the feeling my weeknd pass for 06/07 is going to carry over to 07/08.
Not sure if that is a good thing or a bad thing...

I was talking to Spank the other day and he said it would be OK to take the KB flag again this year. I'll get it off him sometime over the next few weeks.

I wont take the steel flag pole thing like T.I.E did last year. He took it all the way there, peged the flag to the fence and the steel pole stayed next to his bike, we gatherred around and took some photos, and then he took it ala the way home again!

edit: don't be fooled by the flame in the 3rd photo, that was some grass / paper that made not a scrap of difference and T.I.E was overly optimistic that it was actualy the wood burning hence the hand signals - lol

I hadn't thought about it, sounds like a good plan. Is there a better area that you 'd recommend?

Ummm, yes to the good plan to plan, and no to recommending a better spot. I guess the last year spot might be as good a place as any(those that camp there last year may have best input).

Depends on what ya wake up to on Sunday but that adds to the challange of getting out.
I camped further up the hill last year, only because I did. And I was still a nuwbee KBer.
