Why does no-one know where mana is? Lets just call it paremata from now, so no one gets confused. Darkman-its on SH-1, just before grays road links up to it

OK, here's the forecast for the weekend:
Wellington
Saturday: Fine or becoming fine, winds becoming light.
Sunday: Mainly fine, northerly winds developing.
Levin
Saturday: Morning showers, then fine. Winds becoming light.
Sunday: Mainly fine with light winds.
Masterton
Saturday: Early cloud, then fine. Winds mainly westerly.
Sunday: Mainly fine. Winds generally light.
So other than it being a little damp on the Western coast in the morning, it should turn out to be grand weather for riding.
I'm Getting Excited!!!
***EDIT***I've just realised I've passed the 1000 post mark...Does that mean I'm now officially a forum whore?

Hi all. I was not keen at first for the ride due to hearing some dodgy stories in the past about the mass of riders creating a bit of chaos, but I would like to meet fellow KBers, especially from this area, and catch up with any Wellington riders I might know from when I was last part of this forum under the alias phil_elvey. I have a Michelin pilot race tyre on the front of my bike at the moment so I will be a bit hesitant if it's bad weather right across the island. Hopefully it'll be good weather and we will all meet up. I will wear my KB t-shirt if I can.

Il meet you guys just outside of waikanai (te horo) at 8:30 on sh-1, or whenever it is that you go past. Saves me going all the way back down in the morning. And the weather can get stuffed, cause im going anyway!

Thats the spirit.
Hey did I see your bike at Motomart yesterday?

............ I still plan on going even if weather looks a bit dodgy in the morning. Gunner and myself will try to make the meet up point at BP Paremata otherwise will see you further up North.
pretentious moi?
just checked the weather this morning. It's pretty grey in the manawatu at the moment but it looks we should be clear from any rain on the eastern coast

Well , it was a bloody good run. A couple of casualties/offs. For the most part it was over cast and quite a bit if wet road. Bit of road works but nothing major IMHO, but othing too major. Phantom made it ok, his first and is staying overnight, as did a few other KBer's. About 400 riders on all sorts of kit. Appeared to be quite a few relative newbies riding albeit with grey hairs. Took the GB400 and Douge took his 500 Pantah. It was nice to get away from the main group after Woodville. Normal idiots passing on blind corners including some "marshallers".
Some of the bigger bikes had a good look at the GBs sidecovers as they passed me on the straights lol. Quite amusing to catch back up the them when things got a bit tighter
We caught up with a few folk we both haven't seen in a while. It was nice to see so many lady riders too. Doug and I came back via Weber Dannivirke, Top Grass Rd, and the Saddle Road. Bugger all traffic via this route topped off one plesent days riding.![]()
Totally wicked ride guys. Full credit for the EXTREMISTS who went anyway, despite the shite weather. Mostly fine once we got to Himatangi and awsome roads to the coast. For those pessimists who didnt go, well you missed out big time. Nuff said.

Id have to agree. Two dodgy passing manouvres by marshals and one didnt take too kindly to a 250 taking his rightful place in the pack. Its funny the number of people who line up on the right-hand tire track and dont stagger.Originally Posted by Bonez
Other than that a well organised event. Darkman and I met up with Dafe at Woodvile and decided to head home via Palmy. I wasnt riding with mates in the morning ride anyway. A good buzz back home.
