    eek 1000 Miler ride report

In the hope that more than 2 members of the Kiwibiker site (mangell6 and me, as far as I know!) will do the Grand Challenge next year, here's a report on the ride which took place a week last Saturday.  You learn more about yourself and your bike in 24 hours than in a whole year of normal riding!

See you in Turangi next year?

    Cheers

    Hi Matt

Hi Matt - nice to see you are still alive!

I'd still like to think that a guy who rides an MV on a 1000 miler is a figment of my imagination, but on the offchance that you are indeed real, a free visit to a psychiatrist is probably in your best interests

Since the ride, I've restricted myself to going to Taupo on the bird with my wife for brunch yesterday and found to my relief that the hands work again!  The 'bird averaged around 44.5 mpg (15.5 km/lt) on the run which was surprisingly good.

Looked at your photos on your website tonight - very nice indeed.

    Cheers for now

    Geoff

Even sader when you consider it was my 2nd 1000 miler. I rode home on the Sunday, with PLENTY of stops required.

I dropped the MV into Neptune for the new pipes to be made up on the following Monday so the raw bits that used to be my backside have had time to look a bit more "normal" before I get the bike back this week.

All said and done it was a very enjoyable ride.

    Take Care,

As tempting as 1000miles is - I don't think my license would survive the journey

Yer, keeping your license is bit of a concern. In the last 200k of the event I decided to F*ck the license thing and go flat out. It was great fun but it's not something you could maintain for a long period.

If you're doing a Wgtn ride soon I should be up for it (once the mv is back from Neptune).
