Request to move Scooters to Motorcycle Subtypes

    'Motorcycle subtypes
The area for the many different types of Motorcycles and riding.'

So why are scooters relegated to "Offtopic"?

Laugh and poke fun all you like, but I am seriously requesting the Scooter forum be moved to Motorcycle subtypes. Even minibikes and pocketbikes are in this area.

    Yeah I agree

We are 2 wheeled engine run bikes... a motorbike, so put us in a category that mean we are regarded as such please.

I have only just changed to scooter's after bigger bikes all my life and am 6 foot 8 (well you cant see me so I could be) so watch out, cos I might lift my bike up onto you, and ride off bruising you quite badly (wheels are too small to ride up onto you).

Please amend this terrible situation before we protest and ride in the cycle lanes filling them up.

    Scooters are not off topic!

Okay all scooterists, its gone on for too long!!!!

Jess has highlighted a very real bit of typical scooter snobbery by those who think we are a waste of space (just overstating for effect here)... soooo pls go and lend your support to our scooter section being moved into "Motorcycle Subtypes" from where we are in "off topic". How very dare they leave us out in the cold, pledge your support by adding your comments to her post in "Site stuff" called "Request to move Scooters to Motorcycle Subtypes".

We need to be moved even if it will be next to dirty biker types.

Isn't there a scooter forum somewhere that bans people for even mentioning motorbikes?
It's only when you take the piss out of a partially shaved wookie with an overactive 'me' gene and stapled on piss flaps that it becomes a problem.

Well if Kiwibiker was, for instance, a BMW forum, I wouldn't expect to have a scooter forum in it. But it's Kiwibiker, and the Motorcycle Subtypes group states that it includes different types of motorbikes. Scooters are generally seen as a subgroup under the wider heading of motorcycles.
