    WTB GN250 battery cover

Whilst I was driving between New Plymouth & Bulls on my way down south a few week ago, my bloody battery cover fell off my GN250 (buggered if I know how but it did).

Its the black piece of plastic with the Gn250 badge on it that goes on the right hand side of the bike and covers the battery.

If anyone has one lying around for free or cheap (or happens to see mine sitting on the side of the road in Taranaki!) send me a PM.

Alternatively if anyone knows any good suzuki wreckers that sell cheap parts send me a PM too.

    Thanks folks

Bah. The infamous GN side cover problem.
Some w**ker stole mine when I was up North. When I asked some wreckers recently, *oh* how they laughed and laughed.
I think one guy actually cracked a rib.
What a bugger, mate- good luck with it, though. If you find anyone with more than one, let me know- and I'll do the same.

Only had one wrecker laugh at me so far.

I rang road & sport and got a quote for a new one from suzuki, and that made me cry. $130+gst WITHOUT the badge.. Just for the cover.

Seeing as yours got nicked its set me wondering if mine got nicked..

I stopped at Waverly as I was heading down, and didnt notice it missing (might have been but I didnt notice it).

Went into a shop to get a bite to eat, was out of site of the bike for ~2 minutes. Jumped back on after my feed and next time I stopped was in Bulls.

When I got to bulls I noticed it msising off the side in ~15 seconds. I was so pissed I actually did a u-turn, and drove all the way back up to waverly trying to spot it on the side of the road. Rode all the way back up without a sign of it on the way up or back down.

The though of it being nicked had crossed my midn but I thought who'd want to steal it? But if they fall off a lot, and you had yours nicked it does throw a bit more support towards it getting nicked while I was in the shop than randomly falling off and not being spottable.

Is what it is, as explained to me, is some guy in 1983 lost the r/h side cover from his GN.

So he nicked one off someone else.

That person nicked some other bastards, and so on.

You're just at the end of the que.

i have had the displeasure of being associated with 3gns in the past. simple, they loose side covers. always hold them on with a cable tie or so. call it bad ssoooooooozzzooooooooki design

I ended up using the sidecover from a GS250 and trimmed it back a bit. It looks right unless you really know GN's

i was following a mate who has a ginny, and his cover got ripped off by the wind. damn near hit me in the face... at 100k that wouldnt have been pretty. lucky i was following and picked it up. and yeh, one got nicked off my brothers bike. i bought another off tm for like $20. a few weeks later, i wrecked the bike. never thought to take the covers off before it was sold.
